It's a dilemma as my funds are limited and I could Max my budget on a 172, then be stuck if anything goes wrong. I guess the 1.2 is just a safer option with room to breath but my heart says phase1
Just because I can afford it doesn't mean it's the one I want in the grander scheme of things, 1.2 has cheaper parts, less tax and cheaper mpg and wider market for resale for example :)
As already said a phase1 172 is not so easy to find anymore, could mean months of searching!

The exact same thing happened with my heater hose when I had a mx5, I was driving then suddenly the engine overheated and lots of steam :( hole in the heater hose drained all the coolant!
Okay on the motorway then yea fair enough a DCI is a better shout. How ever for what I use a car for I dont do enough miles and long enough journeys to justify a diesel. Petrol is perfectly fine
