Wouldn't know where to start with that one. :P
I need to take it to a garage but it's taking it somewhere that you can rely on is the issue. Don't want to get my pants pulled down!
Bled the brakes thoroughly, flushed new fluid right through.
Yea mate. Gave them a good bedding in. They feel the same as before. Lack of braking power/pressure.
Sliders were all cleaned and greased.
I don't actually have enough brake pressure to engage abs to see of it's working.... In the dry or pissing down rain. The abs won't kick in neither will...
Looks good :) like the fresh engine bay.
Did your comp brake kit came with those rubber washers? Mine didn't but rest of the kit looks the same.
I called them and asked if they should have any rubbers and he said they don't come with any and don't require any either.... So proceed with...
Lol! :) they should have done!
Well I'd take the Clio over the Astra anyway, would have far more fun in the rs. :)
Might look into going one weekend this year.
Yeah. Read a few nurburgring threads on here and looks a great experience....
Maybe I should take my Astra nurburgring to it's birthplace before I sell it? :p
Thanks for the reply. I did think of swapping to 195 as that will bring it in 5mm on the outside edge. The tyres are khumo so might be good idea to swap them anyway. :p
Trouble is my fronts are new Dunlop sport max. Wouldn't want to change them too to match widths, but don't know wether would...
I just fitted new cup shocks, Cooksport springs and 15mm "behind the hub" rear spacers. 20mm fronts too.
Rears causing the problems.
Is it normal for on side to sit tighter to the inside arch than the other? as drivers rear sits 5mm tighter to the inside arch than the other...
Find the ride good to be fair. I drove 3 half hours on them this morning anyway, no aches :)
Full Renault cup shocks and the Cooksport. Handles superb and I haven't even had it set up yet. Just a basic front end tracking.
The solid top mounts have massively changed handling characteristics...
Just fitted some this weekend. Superb setup. 160 for brand new shocks and 120 for springs. I fitted solid top mounts too and totally transformed the car. Awaiting a proper geo setup now.... It's quite low too if your looking for a low ride.
Managed to square the exhaust up a bit better too, tweaked it using washers under the mounts and it's sitting perfect now.
Few pics of the car.
Out with the old:
In with the new:
Finally got round to fitting the spacers, discs, pads, hoses, shocks, springs, top mounts, new handbrake cables and b fluid change! :)
Top mounts are superb!
Fitted mounts and am amazed at the difference!! Totally transformed steering feel and response. Car feels so much tighter. My std ones...
Fitted new discs, pads, hoses and full fluid change and brakes still have the same issue, lack of power. :(
Anyone have any ideas? Master cylinder?
There's Def no air in the system. Was thoroughly bled.
Just for future ref for anyone who looks that this thread:
Fitted mounts and am amazed at the difference!! Totally transformed steering feel and response. Car feels so much tighter. My std ones had begun to perish a little too.
No real difference in ride comfort or noise. Slightly louder road...
