Funny when I've driven the works transit for a bit then get back to one of my cars at the weekend..... It's so strange to jump in something with such tight accurate steering which doesn't feel like it's going to fall over going round a tight bend!
I wanted to lower it and fit the dark grills and headlight surrounds. Never got around to doing it. I loved the mini. Worth trying one if you get chance. Fav car I've owned.
I found fuel to be average for a hot hatch. Clio is a little better. Mini was about same as my VXR. 30ish around town...
brookie nice mini. Miss mine big time. Both me and the wifes favourite car. Haven't driven the Clio enough yet to make a true comparison but it's already up there with the mini in fun handling.
My mini was very similar to yours and had the 5 spoke wheels that someone suggested. So for an idea...

Finished spraying the interior strips too. They still need flatting back, rubbing and polishing. Will look a good job then.

Turned out well but took hours and hours to complete them.... I wouldnt advise doing it. Just get them dipped or buy new ones. Lol.

Gloss blacked grab handles. Massive amount of effort and would recommend getting them dipped rather than diy.... But am pleased with results. Just need to fresh up door handles and the back plate for handles too.

Well that's good news for me I guess as I've just bought full new set of cup shocks and cooksport springs.
Read into it and seems a good set up and it's only 160 for dampers and 120 springs! A relative bargain. Along with top mounts from comp brakes
I have white wheels on my astra and their a nightmare to keep clean. If you do pick white at least the alloy design makes them easier than my multispoke whites. Red I don't like. White does look best but gunmetal is very nice too and lot easier to live with! :)
Yeah. Fair point I guess. Was just worried about getting caught out on track. How did you find llandow? That prob the first track I'd be getting to as it's closest to me.

Looking at doing track days. So want ones that aren't gonna cook/melt. So if these are poverty spec ones I'll be changing them.
Haven't long had the car and was gonna do the obligatory ferodo pad upgrade but looking and the back of the pads there's already ferodo fitted.
Does anyone know which ones these are? Just so I know wether to change or not. As theres lot of meat left on them :)

Ah. Didn't know that. FK konigsport seem to have a good write up on here. But their near 700. Haven't read so much on the FK silverlines or highsports that are within my budget.
Looking to get coilovers. Looking around 500 mark and these are built by KW, and by some of the reviews I have read seem good choice.
I'm doing a full brake system overhaul which will cost 300 in parts as well prob few other bits like solid top mounts. Hence why im aiming for mid range...

I cleaned did a quick clean. Cars desperately in need of a clay but ran out of time. Managed to clay n polish boot and back bumper. Massive improvement, was like 200g sandpaper before!!
Didn't bother cleaning wheels much. They need a refurb...
Had the melty steering wheel too. I've scrapped the lumpy bits off and sanded with wet and dry and it's massive improvement. No pics of that though.
Interior door pulls lacquer is all tatty too so have taken these off car so will try to strip them through the week and paint them. Thinking gloss...
Did a thread for the headlight restoration (don't know how tongue link to it, I'm a forum noob). But here's a quick before after. They were ruined....
Gear insert was LY and not best finish either. So tried black with yellow decals. Looks good I think. Not keen on raised feel of vinyl though...
Pics of when I'd just bought it. All pics are taken with phone. Will have to take it out for a photo shoot with my decent cam. But as mentioned, I barely have time to clean it never mind photos too! :thumbdown:
