    I followed one around Oulton park in a 197 once. It was damp and it fell off infront of me going into Druids, backwards into the gravel. Funny times. I heard one caught fire once.

    Someone has messed with it who doesnt know what they are doing. ( Not aimed at OP btw) That is going to be tricky to work around, I have never come across one like this but I'm sure Fred or Mike will be able to give you some advice.

    The E60s I drove (3 of them) were all limited to 177mph. The E39 which we had from new did 168 before the limiter cut in. BMW told us it was so people in there 540s couldnt keep up with you on the autobahn LOL.

    Its the pully that controls the VVT. Looking at about £600 to replace it as it will require a new cambelt.

    Cambelt side of the block? Dephaser most likely but could be loads of things.

    Is it bolted down correctly? not court on anything or something trapped between the plenum and manifold.
