I've always used it, but i can see why you just hold it though. It does have a symbol on the bottom left of the flap if you look closely.

Harnesses on a rear strut brace..... it will bend in the event of an accident mate.

Depends how you look at it, for the dumb Americans they probably won't think about the brakes, so for them it's amazing. We're somewhat more logical, so yes it's bad from our point. Although that's not saying i wouldn't want a go in it.
