Picked this up brand new from Motor Point 16 years ago today 😊
Still scrubs up well.
Plans for this year are to get all the annoying little car park dents removed. Rear bumper respray, brand new bonnet and wheels refurbed.
You have to be very careful and read how they word the advert. They might say genuine in the description but not "genuine Renault". Lots of sellers do this with Brembo brake discs and pads. They'll pair up some cheap discs with genuine Brembo pads.
Ive seen some adverts on ebay, and like you...
For some reason there are no Genuine Renault cambelt and aux belt kits for 1*2s. Hopefully it's only a temporary thing and not NLA 😕
@indy . The aux belt kit for a 172 cup is slightly different but the cambelt kit is the same as other 1*2s.
You could always email RPD and ask why they're not in...
I'd avoid a dealership like the plague.
Ive had my 182 since new. I took it to the local dealership when the 1st cambelt service was due. It was a clusterfuck from the moment I dropped it off.
I had a written agreed price of £499 which was on Renault website at the time. They later removed that...
I'd get it at that price. Like others have said make sure you get the cam seals too. I'd also get oil and filter done and spark plugs. Once it's done and you can forget about it for 5 years 😊
I'm sure Mick will be ok with you supplying the parts as they're genuine Renault.
I used Mick, Diamond motors back in 2015 for full cambelt, aux belt service. I jumped on the train to Nottingham and wandered round the shops. Was a 6 hour round trip for me but worth it knowing it was done right.
Now I use Birchdown, Andy and Steve are spot on. It's only a 3 hour round trip...
Welcome. Fellow Arctic owner here, more or less standard except for a Yozza sport exhaust and grams springs. I've had mine almost 16 years and still love it 😊
Jack the back end up with the handbrake off . If you can't spin any of the back wheels freely you have a sticking caliper.
Also, if one of the wheels is hot after a good drive that's a good indication you have a sticking caliper.
Yeah he kept me informed with some videos as to what he found and what he'd done.
One thing I will say @Darren S is go and see him and have a chat. You'll probably have to wait as he's always busy.
He's in Darwen, so not far from you. He really is a perfectionist and doesn't do things by half.
He's a Chinese guy called Sunny Yip. If you tell him Andy with the blue 182 recommended you, he'll know who you mean.

I'll definitely be going back...
I had a few quotes and the place I took it was the most expensive. One quote was between £150-£180 😮 another was £340 but the one I went for was £900. I read a alot about this guy and his standard of work. He's a perfectionist. He did a lot more work than he originally quoted me for but he only...
Some stupid cnut of a woman reversed into the nearside rear quarter panel at the end of September. The whole panel was pushed in by about 10mm
The cars been in the bodyshop for the past week and a bit. It took longer cos he ended up sacking one of his lads.
Anyway. Here are the before and after...
Waiting for the " marring police" 😜 I've been using a clay mitt for years with fantastic results and not once has it marred the paintwork.
I'm guessing your product does the same thing.
As long as you keep the paintwork well lubed there's no chance of marring.
Something like will do. The old air feeds are made out of some kind of cloth and can rip as they get older.
You'll have to reuse the ends that clip into the air box.

Ive been running ZV7s for a couple of years now. Can't fault them in the wet or dry. I used to run rainsport 2's then 3's. They're a good tyre, especially in the wet as the name suggests but I would only get 5 - 5.5k out of a set 😮 I just got 12k out of a set of ZV7s 😊
Just reuse the bolts already on the car. Cut off the wire for the wear sensors. I used to have a Pug 306 with the same pads and they would come with the wear sensors but the car didn't have them.
That's where I jack mine at the front and put the axle stands. You'll need a low entry jack, i have the halfords 2 tonne jack and it reaches easily and the jack handle doesn't hit the car.
For the rear jack on the rear beam and put axle stands on the rear jacking points on the sill or axle...
I couldn't tell you how many times it should spin by hand but with mine you could feel when it was spinning it felt rough. It definitely didn't spin 3 or 4 times.
