Only just got the server and am waiting on the arrival of the rest of the memory, it's also only got 1 x 250GB drive atm, probably going to order a 2TB to go in it to get started off with then decide what I'm going to do with it. The server and the NAS are both whisper quiet.

Lol, you put FAIL plates on your car and it ended up on fire, even with arson ruled out I can't see some little kid not wanting to set it alight with that plate on. I'd of loved to have seen VW's face when it turned up burnt out with that plate on, priceless.

Yeah I was lucky with the NAS and bought the HDDs to fill it before the prices soared, I can set this all up and upgrade the memory straight away, but the HDDs can wait as I've got the NAS also.
Just ordered one of those for myself, they have 4 bays and an area for the optical drive. So you can either have an optical drive + 4 HDDs, or no optical drive and 5 HDDs.
I'm going to upgrade it to 8GB memory, 3 x 2TB drives, DVDRW and I'll either keep the 250GB HDD it comes with or change it...
I've only got a Netgear NAS with 2 x 2TBs mirrored. I wouldn't mind a home server but tbh have no reason to have one, I could easily get hold of the software and hardware too.
I bought it off their site after using the trial on a month by month basis for ages.
