id go for the 225 cos its bigger and more practical (and i wanna chuck bikes and diy stuff in the back. That said the 182 will be alot more fun to drive esp on track if thats your bag. Oh i hate the 182 trophy red too

ah yeah course its 72k for timing belts. for some reason i thought it was 60K. In that case i doubt its done. I guess 500 quid should cover a cambelt service on a 197? Ive had my eye on it for a while now (its been on the trader for about a month) and it was priced at 7.5k at the start...

any issues with it? Or has it been well behaved? Do you do alot of miles in it? Ta iain

Yeah its gotta be mway miles. Ill prob chuck another 10-12k on it over the next year then sell it on. That will make it about 80k. lol If i was only doing 5k a year id be all over it tbh. Might go and see it on the weekend. 07> have better/taller gearing iirc

Looking at one on the auto trader. 2007, red, 1 owner, fsh (im assuming the cambelt has been done) and its up for 6990. Is this still too much? I dont usualy worry about milage but this is very high! lol Ta

I had the same problem with the fst. Great looking and nice inside but it was just boring. Found the same was true with the lcr, 225 trophy. Now i want an r26 but ive never driven one and wonder if a 197 would be the better bet?

The gearing did worry me a little (the gearing on my old swift sport was rubbish, it drove me nuts). What sort of rpm is it pulling at 70/80 mph in 6th? It will mostly be used on A roads with a little dc thrown in.

Im going to look at a 56 plate 197 on the weekend. Its an early one with silver wheels so i guess its a fatty one. I know there is a 197 cup but was there a cup suspension option that early on and do all 197 come with the brembos? I expect this is search-able but try filtering 197 cup packs...
