    What he means is, If you have drums or disks as standard, which are cable operated, the better of the two would be drums, however, if you went for a hydraulic handbrake the best would be disks.

    I've always just used a filter wrench, even on tractors were the filters not been changed for years and not had a problem, never done a 1.2 16v though :) Any chance he's cracked the block?
