Thanks Paul.
Just had it back confirmed as a Total Loss. Pretty relieved really, I wouldn't have wanted it fixed.
The good news is that in the last email that they sent, the Settlement figure included 'Less Salvage Value' at £747.50. I'm assuming that's a buy-back figure? Maybe?
I'll have a look later in the week mate.
Just emailed Admiral 5 adverts I've found. I was even geeky enough to send them pictures of my own car, just to show the condition. Gawd it was immaculate :dapprove:
I'm just praying it comes back as a Cat C so I can. Then we'll get the grinder out...
Don't forget the magical dampers!
Cheers for the advice Andy :)
Thanks Marc, MASSIVE help mate. Really appreciate it.
Thanks Andy. Yeah, I'm gutted about the car but just glad no one was hurt. It's a...
Well, £2800 really minus my excess. Red Clio with 90k init.
This is way too stressful. I've told them that I want at least £4k. Fun fun fun. :dapprove:
Just thought I'd give you all a little update, I've been offered £2300. No thankyou.
Very impressed with Admiral otherwise though, they've been spot on.
That's what I was banking on, but I though that ULR will only cover the person not at fault?
I've never worked in claims, literally have no idea how any of it works :o
Thanks all.
Mike/Dave, I'm sure I'll be in touch guys, appreciated. :)
I had a lovely letter this morning regarding fee's for picking up the vehicle and storing it. Bugger.
Thanks mate :) Gutting but things like that happen, I'm trying not to dwell on it.
I had a similar noise coming from mine, couldn't be arsed faffing around with bits so changed both lower arms, TR ends, ball joints etc last month, and the noise went. Sounds like you've had all that sorted so...
Police were there mate, they didn't really speak to me or the other party though. Just guided traffic until the recovery trucks turned up and went on their way. The lorry had long gone by that time though, he drove off pretty much straight away. Didn't leave the cabn AFAIK.
Thanks Ian.
Don't think I'll be doing any form of upgrading now Roy, my premiums are going to be a bit steep. I'm trying my best to turn it into a good thing (stay with me, lol), that car was a bit of an obsession; every time I heard a new rattle/creak I'd spend a fortune getting it sorted...
Oh it was Roy. It's weird really, when you drive a road for so long you almost become completely oblivious to it. I'm sure we all do it; the kind of road you're driving along that you think 'Jesus, I can't remember the past two minutes'. So as soon as something along there changes, it...
Was just a thought. Strangely enough, when I picked up my valuables yesterday the recovery guy asked me the same thing; if anyone was guiding traffic. But then again he looked like Verbal out of The Usual Suspects, so I doubt he had a law degree. But anyway, you'll be happy to hear that I...
Thanks gents. Pete, that sounds scarily similar!
Hi mate, I'll forward the details of the company I use tomorrow when I'm off tapatalk. They're not cheap, but they're very, very good.
Cheers mate, yeah I guess that's the main thing really. That picture makes me sad, would have been sooo much...
