Love seeing threads like this..... Good on ya mso for a trouble free conversion thus far!
Have you by any chance had a play with any SC Civic Type R's? or anyone else with a turbo or sc conversion on their clio? The Jackson Racing Supercharger kit is very popular on the Civic by the looks of...
The faster you go the more it should feel like the tracking is out and the steering will shake violently, if thats what your getting then its your drive shaft. Some propshaft specialists will do a refurb on yours if you want to save money, but you will have to wait for that and not have your car...
Yeh its quite annoying as ive been and bought a new steering wheel to replace it.
Has anyone else done this and managed to convert the airbag problem? or have people who have got ph2 steering wheels in their ph1 not got the airbag active?
Ive been searching on here for a guide to have a ph2 steering wheel put onto a ph1 but no luck?
If anyone can post a link for it that would be great, or maybe just help me right away in answering a Q i have...
Ive taken all the parts off i need to, and have noticed that the ph1 air bag...
Ah right by me then. Im guessing at the 197 is still fairly new, development is still going to be in its early stages.
K-tec need to get on the case lol!
Ok, has anyone on here had theirs done?
Would be interesting to see what kind of figures they are putting out, and what the reliability is like compared to the 1*2 charged cars.
mines standard and quite loud, almost sounds like theres a performance exhaust on it, and i know there isnt because i had a standard one fitted when i got the car. I took it back to the garage where i had it fitted, and they checked it for leaks or cracks, and they said it was all fine. My...
For the amount of time you will spend doing the job, its probs best to just take it to a garage. I got quoted £35+VAT for my 172, but still did it myself in the end. Paid £10.90 iirc for the ball joint from www.eurocarparts.com
Give these chaps a call, they will come to you to do it.
I got my belts done by them a few months back, great service, with warranty. The chap who fitted mine for me had worked for renault before so had plenty of experience, did the job quite quickly. Price was £350+ VAT IIRC...
Yeh it shouldnt be the aux belt, as ive only had my cam/aux belts done a month or two ago. And it made the noise for the first time before then, but has become more frequent now.
Something else i noticed when moving out of a parking space on 2/3 lock was when i revved the engine it screached even louder whilst using the steering, so it has to be belt related im sure?
Eitherway, let me know what your problem is when you find out!
i have the EXACT same problem in my 172. I checked the fluid on it and it was fine, even gave it a top up to make sure, but still getting it. Its only when the car is cold, and when you are stood still (when im moving out of a parking space).
Need to get it looked at asap because it sounds...
Id like to buy some spacers for my ph1 172, as ive seen some pictures of clio's with them on, and personally really like the way they make the car look. So i have a few questions regarding them.
Where to buy and how much?
How do they fit? do they literally just go on behind the wheel?
What...
I 2nd that, Fred and i spoke about up rating clio's in general for the track etc, and he said to stick on some decent pads some good discs and your away
Found these on Eurocarparts.com

Can anyone do any better?
What extra parts have you had put on your clio just out of interest mate? yours seems to be making more power than the other SC clios. How much more £££ are you talking to increase that bit more? or was it just mapping that gave you the results you have?
Not sure, as said it was a good effort, wasnt exactly creaping past it. Even if it was a WRX im just saying that charged clio's are gonna be very quick
