He's done the wheel bearings and....... no change. He says it's just slight knock over rough ground. That's normally top mounts in my experience but i'll suggest the diff bolts. Until he sorts it I've written off viewing the car.
I'm not buying a car a chasing issues from the start although...
This tbh. You can clean them when they're not fucked and they may last longer but once they "going" cleaning them does f all normally.
Really? It's not uncommon.
Correct although they’re apparently factory. It’s hpi clear and def an MR. You can tell by the roof and I’ve checked the vin. Still, until it’s sorted I’m not gonna view.
Well doesn't look like I will be viewing this weekend now. Apparently there is a clunky noise from the front. He has two new wheel bearings to change as one was rough on the last MOT which he says should fix it. Or I can have it and do it myself and he'll knock some money off.
I've not heard a...
Haha I'm led to believe their pretty reliable? The main costs to consider were very frequent oil changes, tyres and of course fuel.
Other than a 14 mile each way commute to work which is 90% motorway it'd just be a toy.
I'm going to look at an MR on the weekend which I know of for sale. Just need to do a thorough inspection and try and get my big boy pants on to buy it..lol
Needs stickers removed of course..
All BMW's eat bushes for some reason..
Mid 30's should be achievable I'd have thought. My merc is 312/530 and weighs 40 tonnes and has averaged 37 mpg over the past 1650 miles according to the trip. (and I don't drive slow)
My mates 535d is terrible on fuel around town but it's modified. On...
+1 on the badges.
What were they thinking with 4 pea shooters..
Can't you just chop the rear boxes and change the tips pikey style? Then save the rest for the charger...
Wicked.
It'll be sold in no time though. I regret selling most cars but if/when I've ever got back in them I remember why I sold it in the first place.
All standard stuff then which you have to do on E9X's then really. Well other than the vacuum lines which is pretty much standard for the 35d engine.
Goes to show what great motors they are if looked after.
I love them. They're a guilty pleasure of mine. A great car to drive they are not though.
My mate had a red one back in the day. Easily tuned to 300bhp.
