How the fook do you get the rocker cover off?
all bolts are removed, it lifts about half an inch but won't go any further.
even the camshaft a look free, and I'd say even the pulleys, they lift about half inch but its then as if it purely won't go any further.
no bolts are missed, everything...
Can't compare to KTR, and I'd doubt KTR would make anything for the cosworth range for him to be able to compare.
ive used Goodridge plent of times over the years with no problems, my mates car with HEL lines I'd say he was probably given what he needed under sponsorship anyhow.
Spotted you/your misses again this eve Jack.
about 7:45 coming in to Copthorne.
i was sat at one end of the road works in the focus as she came through them.
The item you refer to in the rear of the boot between the strut tops is not an ARB, it would be classed as a strut brace, and to be honest you really don't need it.
Food for thought is very good, and I've more or less just had the same convo with Porkie.
ive been known to get carried away in the past on a track car, and before you know it an engine build suddenly costs near on 15k, doing this totally goes against what I bought the clio for, a cheap budget...
To be honest mate, I think I need to sit down and chat to a builder (Mike) about what I'd like to achieve and see what he suggests.
as you probably know, the trophy is never going to be a road car again so I'd like the engine to be a strong and lively lump purely for track.
i don't mind lumpy...
Has anyone used Engine Dynamics for a nice engine build?
i know they are possibly known under their previous name of BB Tuning from back in the 5GTT days.
it would be nice to have some feedback about how you were treated, if you felt you had good value for money, if they catered for your engine...
I'm 6'1", and I think I've got my seat heights pretty much spot on.
Jonny6 on the forum came out with me at Bedford and one of his first comments were 'I can't believe how low we are sitting'.
i guess it makes a big difference.
Just thought I should add this.
monday the car was at Bedford, it went really well and pretty much faultless all day until just after 4pm.
i let a mate take the car out, after a while of realising he hadn't come past the pits for a while I started to get worried, and then he comes in to sight...
Fantom, you will have no problem atall if that's what you wish to do with your seat runners.
I've actually painted everything black, including the inside of the roof, b and c pillars, all of the sides etc, its pretty dark in there.
a pillar trims have been refinished in satin black to blend in...
Yep that was me, I assume you may have spotted a bright green focus RS in front of me aswell?
Going by the time of this post, we would have been on the way home from Bedford Autodrome :)
I must admit, buying it on the mileage it had, and knowing in what environment it would be spending its life I didn't expect it to last forever anyhow.
yes, the engine going pop is a sad day, but it certainly won't stop the car being back out in a few weeks being used hard again.
Certainly wont be breaking it, not with the time / effort and parts that have now gone in to this car to make it a track toy.
new engine will be sourced and fitted, the car will live on :)
I've only done 2 trackdays with the car so far, both at Bedford, but god was it driven hard today when I took it out.
it wasn't even myself driving it today when it let go, I'd given the keys to my mate a good few times and he was just starting to enjoy it, he genuinely had tears in his eyes...
I'm sure many will know of the trophy that once was Sir Daves, and then shortly Nick Cup's that was on 187k.
many people joked and asked who would own it when it hits 200k, well today the chances of it finally making it to 200k on the same engine have come to an end.
todays mileage as of 1...
Standard in the misses 182, always prefer a stereo to look factory to stop thieving scum spotting it and stealing it, and to be honest the factory setup doesn't sound bad anyhow.
the Trophy has no stereo atall, no head unit and no speakers :)
Oakwood?
Or Balcombe road school, depending on when you went there.
i lived in Langshot, so you were possibly nearby.
Danny_172, it just caught my eye and I quote liked it, fancied a new toy for a while :)
