What this man says!
its not really worth the effort if your just removing a few bits, its got to be all or nothing, or keep the comfort and enjoy the trip.
by the way you are writing I'm guessing the ring trip will be your first?
if so, you certainly don't want to be pushing the car that hard...
I could be wrong, but from a conversation in the past with a friends company that used to supply 888's, Toyo as a company can be a pain to deal with, a few years back they altered the amount of stockists they were happy to have within the UK, almost cutting them to about a 5th of who they used...
It's not the fitting of the master cylinder, lines or rear bias setup that worries me at this stage, its just the wiring issues that could be encountered by removing the loom for it all, as much as I want to change this setup over I don't want to then be beaten by a car that won't start or run...
Cruise and associated items are far from needed (and tbh I'm not sure what EPS is).
I think I've mentioned before James that the car is never likely to see a road again, its already beyond that stage as it is.
speedo I'm not worried about in the slightest, its not anything I look at when on...
How have others done it then?
left the ABS module in place and everything still plugged in but running he new lines from a cup master cylinder instead?
At the ring, In the garage at the hotel we normally use,
i normally get there and they let me put my car and tools in the spare garage they have for the few days we are there.
at a UK track, again in the garages, we normally end up taking the kettle, camp chairs, and a full days picnic or us all...
I normally load up with every spare I have the same as I do for a normal trackday.
including a spare set of wheels and all tools, and they have come in handy many a time.
but then saying that, I've often got a spare car with us or on the tow vehicle so space isn't an issue.
It should be a little black rubber seal at the bottom of the ball joint, which isn't easily removable do I can't imagine its not been fitted.
normally when you buy them in the box they have the big plastic cover on them, is this the bit you mean?
Choice is wide, depends on budget and tastes.
Regular contenders would be OZ F1's, Pro Race 1.2's or the OZ 2118's, 7 x 15 with an et38 - 43 ish.
tyre size would be 195/50/15, you could go for Toyo R888's, but tyre choice again is going to be down to personal preference.
Quick question for those that have converted a formerly ABS equipped car to run non ABS.
how far back have you taken the relevant wiring loom, it seems to have its own loom that disappears up into the fuse/relay box passenger side of the engine bay, does this loom come to a point where it can...
Morgan, I'm not overly worried about the lines so much as I'd run them through the car if I couldn't source them, but seeing Nicks response and he being pretty much on my door step I shall see what Nicks plans are first and then come back to you, if that okay.
Nick, when you say soon, vaguely...
