Don't go anywhere near any lowering Spring on a R53 mini it will ruin the ride completely! It's makes them so crashy the dampers just aren't up to it. As said if you want lows then go for coilovers even the cheapest AP's are an upgrade on OEM dampers and Spring combo

Looking good Graeme Only thing from reading up on the cages is your better off having the bolts the other way round so the nuts are inside the car, if you ever need to remove those bolts in could prove difficult after they've been exposed to the elements etc
