few boys on RS have also mentioned the gearbox and iirc renault are aware of it being an issue, so hopefully you should be ok.
Dont think the fact its from a supermarket is a big deal - warranty is warranty.
the big selling point of the clio is that its not that expensive for what you get in terms of an overall package.
handling and performance for the money is good value. There are plenty of better built cars, but in terms of standard out the box cars theres not many that can provide the same...
try and get one with the revised ratio's
apparently much better. Hard to tell from the flesh though, so expect dealers not to know except those who actually know what there talking about.
