As a family man too, I'm struggling to think how to convince you as I like MGs too. I could have said you'll get nearly twice the mpg but that doesn't really matter on 5k. Build quality and general reliability should be better on Renaults and the performance maybe marginally better I suppose...
14 days I think the cooling off period is. Sky use BT contracted engineers to do the initial setup anyway, so I think you've been misinformed by both. IMO when you phoned Sky, they should have sorted it all for you.
If you want a direct replacement then I think you'll need to measure the ones that are on Kelv, as there looks to be various diameter Toyota discs, they are 62mm centres but don't know the diameter that you have. Quick Google found three diameters at least. Think the above solution sounds better...
For a first go I think it's really good, just from the show's perspective - the footage you've used doesn't sell it that much. (Far better than I could do though so fair play lol)
I had a similar thing with my last car, was the cat. You might be able to hear a whistling/sucking sound too. It drove as though it was on three cylinders.
