Well I took peoples advice and I've now sent off for the plate to be removed so I don't have to sort it if someone wants to buy it. Just got to wait till that comes back now

you can do it or you could at least.. if you go to the dvla office with the new owners details, the guy clearly didnt go to the dvla office as the plate transfer is done instantly if you go in.. they give you a new tax disk there n then, its just a matter of waiting for the log book to come back...
