Quick update. Had the starter motor changed for a new one. Picked it up, drove it twice and now it won't start at all. Starts with a bump. RAC reckon its the wiring loom to the starter motor as battery is good and everything else checks out. Will bump start it and try to get it down to Mike at...

Been a day of hard work on the Clio today. Started off at 10.30 am with it looking like this. I had the help of my son for the day and we were determined to do as much as we could. Wanting to finish the interior was a prime goal.
First job of the day was to remove the front seats.
Jakey...
Time for a quick update. Attended the Longbridge Mill Meet last night and the usual happened. Thanks everyone for the push start to get the car going to get me home. Car made it home no problems and started again. Have ordered a new starter motor after advice from Chip and Mike. Is going to be...
Well I got the car to Surrey Rolling Road this morning. Those who were there enjoyed the excitement of the non-starting Clio. After a couple of hours the car decided to give in and do what was expected of it. Got it on the Rollers and the result was:=
Pleased with that result considering the...
Was a great day even with my traumas. Glad to not be the fail of the day and not go home on a lowloader. Pleased with the 164.1 when it finally started. No more trauma with it for the rest of the day. home and it started with no problems. Drove round to my daughter's to watch the footie and it...
Washed it for the first time since I bought it in November. Checked fluid levels and sorted out loose items in the spare wheel tool kit. Tomorrow rolling road and hopefully putting the cage and seats in on Sunday.
Got a phone call from my new best mate Steve at PCC. Come and get the Clio I can't find anything wrong with it. Got there and he had checked the heat shield on the starter motor and it was there. Cleaned the starter motor connector and then checked the main negative earth strap from the battery...
Like the rotas and going in the right direction with de chavving it. Prefer a stealth system on 172s but each to their own. Definitely go back to standard headlights.
Well done on an epic purchase Ryan. You've come a long way from the Mk1. Really looking forward to seeing this in the flesh, Mars red is such a great colour. Hope you get along to Longbridge Mill next week.
Andy never realised you had a Vee either until now.
The waiting around was okay last time I went, and a great opportunity to meet new people and chew the fat with the usual suspects. Not sure if I will be there at the moment as the car is in the garage and I have man flu at the moment. Will make a decision on Friday. If I haven't got the Ph1...
Now I've stripped mine I want to re-spray inside as its not been lacquered and would prefer it to be shiny. Must keep reminding myself that the car is for driving not polishing lol.
It started this morning and drove it to the garage. Got there switched it off and Steve came out. Went to show him what happens and the fcuking thing started first time after an 8 mile drive there. Left it for a couple of minutes and then it started n problem. The only thing that I can think of...
