Depends if you want to do the job properly or not. If you want a cheap and easy repair, cut both connections off, bare back the end of each wire and use a heat shrinked crimp connector to join each wire together.

The very slight difference in size won't be a problem, as most speedos over read as standard. So if anything, your speedo will be more accurate with the slightly larger tyre.

If you take the M1-A14 route instead of the A1 I can meet you at the Brampton Hut services as it's on the way.

From what I've been told when I've asked about doing the same, is that you will need the wings aswell as the bumpers.
