Yeah the elements only apply to the shields in 'normal' play, so once you've taken down an arc shield with an arc weapon, the arc doesn't have any bonus effect. In nightfalls, weeklys and the new Prison of Elders though, the burns come into play - so even if it looks like an enemy has no shield...

Yeah it is worth it - HoC is solar, Truth is void. You need to get a weapon type with each element. I have at least 5 different solar rocket launchers, each with a slightly different role (although Gjallahorn is definitely the best overall, by a mile!)

Truth is good - worth buying. Also if you're a titan, get the helmet. You will need that for Crota on hard as it replenishes health with orbs (unless you get the raid helmet with the same perk roll - seems quite rare though as I've only had this drop once after almost 70 completions)

Deathsinger is quite easy if you have the right strategy and gear - generally it is better to jump up to snipe the wizards from the boomer platforms, then send down one person each side to take out the shriekers whilst the other 4 start picking off the adds. Once the deathblast has passed...

I only have 1 gjallahorn and 1 Black Hammer though, some of my friends have 3 each of them, too! One of my clan mates (1,400 hours in) has about 2,500 ascendant energy too! He still needs Patience & Time though - so I got all the exotics in 700 hours less than him!

Icebreaker and Gjallahorn are the best guns in the game - although Black Hammer is amazing against bosses

I only played PVP to finish my exotic bounties - will go back in for Trials of Osiris and Iron Banner though (assuming it comes back, hopefully, as I never bothered getting the armour from it)

Icebreaker is awesome. Along with Gjalahorn, it's the best gun in the game I think - I don't really bother with duplicates normally but I have 3 of these (plus 3 Fatebringers - sorry lads!) Will do Atheon again next week as several of us have run out of ascendant energy so might be a space then...
