James,
Spray some black paint on top of your filler to use as a guide coat, then get a straight bit of wood with some sandpaper round it and work along it with that, any low spots will show up as still being black.
Depending on the type of curve on the tailgate you have to follow the curve...
Simon,
2l lumps have a lot more torque low down in all gears whereas Nick cant use the NOS till about third gear without losing traction.
No good for the pod.

I have the 1.8 head which is the same as the 2l?
It is the manifolds which make a difference, the williams manifold gives more topend torque but the 16V manifold gives you more of the important lower end torque.

Nick,
As far as im aware it just bolts together although it would probably need a chip to fuel it and you can only have a 6900 rev limit as the 2l doesnt rev as high.
As you know NH did mine but he will be reluctant to give out trade secrets.

Lofty,
The gear box oil is easy to change especially with an induction kit fitted, just remove the plastic guard from underneath the gearbox, undo the drain plug, refit and fill through the hole at the front.
It is not rated in the haynes manual as it is not part of the service schedule.
