I don't mean FRSH or anything but just something that shows the previous owners have took car of the car. My cars had services at Renault, Vauxhall (when I bought it) and a local garage last year. Basically it's been serviced every year of its life within the service intervals which is what i'd...
I'd avoid. Everybody like a bargin but this is not one. No service history is a serious fail. There are a large amount of people that run a car and don't even know what a service is. 5th gear this week showed how many cars don't have the correct amount of oil in them, if somebody can't be...
Any car can though. If you buy right you can avoid a lot of expensive problems though.
If you buy with FSH and the essential belt changes you've 99% removed one of the biggest causes of a huge bill - a snapped cambelt.
Gearbox's can go however if it feels good then hopefully it should be...
What did you get for the PH1 if you don't mind me asking? Just as an approximate book figure would help in my decision to search for TPFT or FC quotes on one.
In reply to the OP it was a lucky escape but its a reason why I want another Clio. They are a very safe car to be in, i've seen some...
Jesus £3800 no way i'd pay that for a Ph1 whether its exclusive no.1 of not.
I'd pay up to 3K for an absolutely mint example Ph1 with FSH and belt changes. Think thats reasonable tbh.
Will do mate. Had an offer of "about 2K, maybe a bit more" off a garage when I was looking at a 106 GTI so thats what i'm after.
I'm definately going to take it down though, they have a base only 6 miles away from me so I have nothing to lose. Except my rag that is if they completely take the...
Very interesting project. Your going to struggle to insure it at 17 though mate. I'd add uprated brakes to that list aswell if your going to be running big power.
Hmm probably not worth it then. I'll still let them have a look but I'm thinking now that you lot will be right. Theres still so much profit in it though, ones with good bodywork go at dealers for 4K with similar spec to mine so at carcraft probabely 5K, it needs a couple of hundred at trade...
I know but its worth a pop. I'll book an appointment and see what they say. Not prepared to take too little for it though. I know the bodywork isn't great but its got FSH, AC, good rubber all around, front pads 6K ago and is mechanically sound.
Its also not yet 4 years old and would make a...
My Gf's Mums with my Gf driving got from my house to the Trafford Centre (about 20 miles) and returned 74mpg at around 70mph.
Epic mpg out of them and they're torquey b******s too. The pick of the non RS range imo.
I'm actually impressed with there valuation of my car. I put down about the rear bumper scrape, large dent in my door and front bumper needing a spray and they give a provisional valueation of exactely what I am looking for with no hassle of selling privately.
The latest appointment they have...
A factor to consider like I said when watching it is the 182 is well run in and the 200 will only have a few miles on it and everybody seems to comment on how mileage makes the F4R engine come alive and loosen up.
For that amount of money there are so many better cars than a Clio GT. I fail to see the point in buying an average car brand new when you could get something a lot better if you get one a couple of years old but still mint.
For example for 14Kish you could get a 1 year old Reanultsport...
V6. It's your dream car. Run it for a bit enjoy it, then sell it on. Hopefully you won't lose too much aswell.
The S2000 is a great car but not anywhere near as special as the Vee.
+1 They are shockingly slow. Mine certainly is no faster than book speed, I wouldn't expect it to be its completely standard, the only way you would get into the 10's with normal mods is stripping it bare tbh.
Could have just took a picture of the max speed reached when you stopped.....
I have only been over 100 (speedo) in my car literally a couple of times, they just don't move after 90 so little point trying, I get no enjoyment out of it and its putting unnessisary strain on the car holding it at...
