You where on the convoy yeh. The difference is when we're at 100 praying to keep up, they've all go atleast another 40mph to play with.
It's part of the fun tho imo. I will miss it when I have a faster car.
Lol at keeping up with a VTS. The Saxo VTS is every bit as good at handling as a ph1 172 (top gear vid) so by that comment a 1.6 8V Clio has better handling than a 172.
The guy either couldn't drive or wasn't trying. I've overtook Ferrari's on the motorway, maybe the Ferrari owners should...
You need to start abusing it more Ian. My car is rarely below 4.5K on a CS meet trying to keep up. Althoughnwe do have a laugh trying to keep up untill I inevitabely fail and get lost taking the rest of the convoy with me. Chris is always very suprised to find out I was the numpty who c**ked up...
I wouldn't be too worried. I've read in Evo magazine about a guy who had a decat on his Evo irronically and VOSA caught him and gave him 14 days to remove it and go to an MOT centre for an emissions test.
Also if you see any vosa people just take it very easy and try to keep the car as quiet...
Looks spot on, mint condition.
How old are you if you don't mind me asking? I'm 19 and will be pretty pissed off if dealers won't let me test drive the next car I want, I could get my dad to test drive it but I would want to know how it feels to me to drive it.
A cup packed 182 is regarded as a step up from a ph2 172 becuase the ph2 is described as too soft by some people.
Personally if I could afford one i'd go 182FF, However I would not be put of by a ph2 172 atall. All down to budget imo, which is why a ph2 172 is around the top of my next car list.
Without spending big money you could go for a decat and matched inlets. Then get it all mapped with a custom map and invest in some good tyres if you don't already have them.
If you want to spend a bit more cams, as above, are a good option.
It doesn't. Its where the engine starts to come towards peak efficency. Been covered many times before....
Good write up though. I'd like to drive one myself, but my local dealer has no Renaultsports in atall. I went to see if they had a 1*2 in last week and nothing :(
They're a reasonably nippy car mate, your only 18 and its classed as a 'hot hatch' with the vrs name etc. Shop around and you might get lucky.
Clio dci 100 would be a good shout too, less power obviously but still nippy.
I'm not suprised your bored of the 206, never seen the attraction of...
Definately Twingo imo. Its a Renaultsport model to rather than a high spec Clio which to me is a step up. If I was going for the GT and doing that mileage i'd probably go dci too.
I know how you feel. Don't get me wrong at meets everybody has always been more than welcoming, the NW meets have a fair few non sports but I will certainly feel more included when I upgrade to a sport.
Looks far better but agree with the lower or bigger wheels. I'm presuming they're 15's which unless realy low are too small for the mk3's huge arch's imo.
Do realy like the stealth look of the car though, realy suits the car.
