Tbh I'm out. My rear tyres are pretty much dead and a spirited drive on roads I don't know in this weather is asking for trouble. Plus it's a hellishly ling drive for me £100 in fuel alone

right so thinks have come to a bit of a grinding halt. from the bulkhead back is complete now, minus the washer bottle for the front screen thats going in the boot... i just need to work out how to mount it. i still need to wire the fuel pump work out why the dash fans arnt working and...

if i was doing mine again i would have gone for the mk4 polo TDI lump like i orginally wanted to, dunno for some reason that sounds awesome to me

its not that it doesnt run great its just a pain to do as youll need to wire in the ECU to a car that doesnt have or has ever had one

then a polo gt engine isnt the right choice as its an injection engine, different loom, ecu etc etc, im running it on carbs as its a PITA to do the injection convesion. but i dont expect it to be reliable... its proving that so far by its unwillingness to start lol

If you want it to be a reliable daily steer well clear of bike carbs lol

on the sat he was out for open parctice and qualifying but oil pressure was dropping to zero on idle and then eventually fluctuating under load too, taking the power with it, was impossible to drive so he retired it before causing too much engine damage. :(
