Yea there is a tool, breaker bar does it for me. There's also a electronic hertz tool to get the tension correct.

Ive seen a stone jammed in a a/c pulley on a Scenic which in turn ripped the aux belt to bits and took the cambelt out.

Why would you change the engine? It's been well serviced all it's life so there's no reason why it won't do another 100k with proper maintanence.

Injectors are common, worst case is a burnt out valve, ive seen 3 or 4 now do this on the d4f engine. Bargain by the way, even has Air con, winner.

Yea, when you disconnect the rear lamps have a look and the terminals on the plug on the loom, pins just need pushing inward slightly to make a better connection.

Fluid would have been run through until all air was out, not a complete flush.

Ahh yes, think it had some play in the bearing so it was re-torqued but still had some slight play iirc. Rear lights will just need the pins in the plug adjusting.

No i didn't do that, i remember it being done however. Im sure i did the cambelt, and dephaser about a year ago. Then it came back a few months later as the water pump collasped so that got replaced along with another aux belt and fresh coolant.
