Yeah it was good guys, finally put some faces to names. Sam and I have a load of pics from the convoy up and what not so I'll get some posted up once I've got them on my hard drive
There's going to be one, possibly two of my mates coming and we'll be heading to Frankley SB at 9.00am from Halesowen McD's :)
Can whoever's organising it and meeting there drop me a PM with their number just in case we're running late/break down etc
Cheers
Practically no prep, just a good clean. I used playing cards to mask as well so a 5 min prep in total :)
They do most normal colours at £9 a can and then various fluorescent ones which are a little more. If you pop on the website they're all on there
Two of my alloys were pretty fooked tbh but couldn't be bothered to sand/fill them as this is a temporary fix until I decide what to do with them. Saying that though it's covered the scuffs a lot better than I expected and are only visible on close inspection :)
I bought 4 cans and have probably 3 quarters of a can left. I gave them a really good clean with wheel cleaner, jet-washed them and then dried off with a micro-fibre cloth.
Then did one this coat, left for 20 mins then did a thick coat. Left it about half an hour and then did another final...
Thanks :)
No not yet, only did them yesterday. I managed to get overspray on the floor though and wasn't as easy to get off as I expected. I'm going to give her a clean on Friday ready for CSS so I'll see how tough they are and update
Plastidip do their own special lacquer to give it a gloss finish without affecting it's properties too much so although it's a bit more durable it still peels off without too much trouble (or so they say!).
Thanks for the thumbs up, there's a lot of haters but I like it, even more so now :)
Cheers :)
Yeah, all the orange bits were professionally painted but the wheels and centre caps are plastdip. Gave me a good excuse to black hammerite my callipers too whilst the wheels were off :)
Incase anyone's interested, I did three coats just to make sure and after a test run it still...
Cheers, I think they've come out alright tbh. The orange is real paint, sprayshack on here did them for me. The plastidip is just matte, haven't decided whether to lacquer yet but think the matte looks a bit more aggressive tbh...
Here's a couple more, crappy iPhone pics with my makeshift spray...
Quick update with my progress so far...
Two wheels done today, last two to be done tomorrow if all goes to plan.
They were never going to be perfect but for the price I can't grumble, they look a damn sight better than before as all the paint was chipped and peeling!
I failed the mention the brick wall had already been knocked down the night before by another driver. He destroyed the wall but his car was stopped at the top. The council had been alerted and failed to grit the street even though they had promised they would do so. If the wall had been there, I...
Some pretty bad crashes here...
Mines not something I'm proud of but I have certainly learnt from it.
Started out as a low milage, mint 182 only missing it's splitter...
13 days and some snow later...
Thankfully now the council have made the road a lot safer as it's a stupidly...
Well tbh I didn't research it particularly well, although I've got them all through bar one which I unclipped, took apart and then soldered back together. Obviously my problem is what to do with the wires now to make everything work properly :S
Thanks for the reply. I've managed to squeeze them thru and got the wheel on now so at least I can drive it!
I'll fit the airbag bypass and horn kit tomorrow but don't know how to wire those up either, there weren't any instructions and I'm not mechanically/electrically minded! Now I've got my...
Right, I'm a little stuck and need some help. Currently sat in my car feeling perplexed...
So far I've removed the wheel and have these wires in front of me. I have an OMP boss kit and also the airbag bypass kit but don't know what to do with them...the connector plugs are too large to fit...
Clio looks lovely and clean, alloys look great too. What colour are they? Look like a dark gun metal on my iPhone.
Porsche looks ace as well, love that era, probably my favourite. There's an old boy near me who's got a non-runner rusting away in garage, can't convince him to sell it though...
As said befire i think this looks spot on :)
Tbf though mine looks pretty low like this, I think it all depends on how they settle and possibly the tyre profile size as well.
Looks good :) have you noticed the rear acting a little twitchy on bumpy roads? Changed mine 2 weeks back, front feels tight but not the rear...wondering whether it may be time for new shocks :S
