very strange place to put a sub, it needs a sealed or properly ported enclosure to work properly! otherwise it will just bounce around and make not a very nice noise!
have a look at some pics from my old clio, same colour, same shape and i did quite a few bits to that!!
This was at becketon/city airport/excel!
I took the risk of going down there because I heard from a reliable source that the police clamp down was only for two weeks!! And it paid off, was rammed. An EXCELlent night out haha sorry that was awful!
I spied you last night reecey!! Haha looked like you were having a good time with a bg182!!
Looks like my intel was correct, though there were a few police down there, they didn't stick around and it became very busy with a lot of fun to be had!! I was parked on the bottom roundabout by the...
5-40 fully synth?! bit thin isnt it lol??
good job, if your cambelt ever snaps, please let me know!! i want a looked after shell mk2 ph1 non-sport clio to drop my williams engine into!
does look very nice for a ph1 nonsport, id still say get dual optics!!
P.S.
Lower it you pussy ;)...
how big is your arch gap?! :O
and if your springs are compressed against the maximum travel of the shock, rather than the weight of the car, then your handling will be all over the shop! and i cant imagine it being very good for the shocks!
the link you've posted are coilovers made by "Raceland".
They're coilovers, but very cheap ones.
Dont expect them to improve your handling. Standard suspension will be better.
Your car is nice, i want your wheels!! :P
being a mk1 owner i have no idea what half of the lights on your dash are,
immobilizer light is going out so it doesnt look like thats the culprit,
i think the best bet now would be get the multimeter out, test the battery with the engine both off, and on.
then test there is a constant +12v...
are you sure its a flat battery? not a fubared starter motor?
what happens if you turn the fans, beams, stereo, etc, does it struggle for power when the cars not running??
ian youre such a melt!! can you PM me?? haha
kinda sucks that the police have closed the roundabouts at lakeside,
and theyre having a large clam down at excel, but i heard that was only for the previous two weekends so i have no idea where ill be heading this saturday,
but no doubt ill start...
first thought would be lambda,
second thought would be MAP sensor,
then perhaps ecu trouble,
i wouldnt have thought it would be anything mechanical,
and if a sensor is giving a dodgy reading, it may not quite be out enough to register as a faul!
yup, the ph1 will be stripped to a bare shell, cage and seat frames welded in, and full painted interior and engine bay, 172 wishbones, breaks and anti roll bar, coilovers the lot!!
and will still cost a mere £130pa to tax :D
and adam you already have buckets dont you?
this one has rust issues, and it would be cost effective to save it, only for it to start rusting again in a year! Mk2 shells dont really have the same rust issues so i thought it would be a good start for building a car from scratch!!
i do seem to scrap every clio i own though, only one has...
so my valver is coming off the road on the 22nd July, being raided of the engine and interior, and being scrapped. engine will be stored/rebuilt while im on my first year of uni. Then will be dropped into a mk2 ph1 nonsport with a 172 running gear!
So this is a montage of all my favourite...
personally i wouldnt use price comparison sites with your real details, not only will they give you a hiked up price,
but theyll save your details and give you the same hiked up price when you go to the companies direct!!
just note, adding yourself as a named driver doesnt make it that much...
why not get the Trophy recaro seats??
theyll go pretty well seeing as theyre an OEM seat!!
also, i went for bright blue buckets in my last clio, i strongly regretted it!
why is that dare i ask?? if i tape over the entire exposed section of the bottom end leaving just a small bit of oil in each cylinder would it not be ok??
i ask because i plan to get the head skimmed, all the valves re-seated and it may take me a while to do as ill be away from home for long...
personally id always use hubcentrics, which kinda limits you to 15mm or bigger, in which case it would definatley be longer bolts!!
i tried 9mm spacers, and the bolt did not go through far enough to call safe!!
looks good! makes me miss my ph1 non-sport, but ill be getting another one soon ;)
will be selling pollybushed wishbones in a month if it interest you,
saves you having to have the old bushes pressed out and the new ones welded in!!
my worry was more the lack of water in the car!! if i spray some wd40 down the plugs every now and then and rotate the engine, you think this will stop the rings from seizing/rusting?
Ok so i dont plan on driving my valver for a year, after which, i wish to reshell it into a mk2
effectivley, the only thing i really wish to keep from the car.....is the engine and box!!
however, removing the engine and box will dump most of the fluid!!
my question is would it be ok to store...
