Would take viper off untill you get a new chip or re map. Had a viper on my old 206 gti and it fu*ked the car up big time. Oil was cream e cut out on me lots and mpg was sh*t. Put a hi flow panal filter in and car was running better than ever quicker faster and a lot more happppppppppy.
Try some fuel cleaner in it . My sis old 106 did the same and when she used some fuel cleaner it was fine.

Red dot do a 20 groove disc for £ 187 on demon tweeks but with pads as well you looking at £ 290 ish just for the front . How are the cup brakes would scare the sh*t out of me with no abs the mad french g*ts jack up the power and then do away with the abs ?????????????
Fuc*ing Renalut robbing me of all the horses dam french rubish but with only 156 it still feles like 200 + and sod all you lot my cars going to have 177 and that is final : )
Saw a k tec full cat back and said a + of 8 bhp . Sounds a bit to good but with a green cotton air filter ( a panal air box one ) + 5 bhp sounds about right .
Down in bognor regis and dont no of any in this neck of the woods
Maby i should just go for a free flow green filter an k tec cat back hat u think ?

Smart want a viper very bad had one on the old 206 gti but it fu*k up the block as i put it on without any other mods . Have you one on that sweet red 172 and is it good ?
Is there a of the shelf ecu that i can buy and fit myself for my mk 172. i have seen the pig e back ones and superchips ones cos i would like to get a viper but was told not to get one without geting a new ecu or remap .
Yer doen all that it said in book but on cold air ( not that i need in in this wether) is still under warranti so not a prob just thought it may be somthing simple

Hi to all . Have a problem with the air con on mk 1 172 IT DONT WORK.
Have pushed all the buttons and little light comes on on the button but get no cold air is it a fault or am i being really thick
How hard would it be to fit by my self is it just a case of take the old parts off ie cat ,exhaust back box and pun new ones on as i have not a lot of good mod shops down hear in sunny bognor regis.
GR8 as i was asking sunday about air filters and vipers and was told to go for a free flow panal filter as i was not going to change the ecu but i wanted just a little more power. So i could do the air filter panal , sports cat , and full system with no change to the ecu yes.
If you fit a performance exhaust do you need to change the ecu or is it ok just to change the exhaust alone as i do not want to change my ecu on my mk 1 172 . Was looking at performance exhaust and sport cat on k tec and what sort of power/bhp gains would this bring

Had some e.b.c brakes disc/pads all round on my old 206 gti ( good car but a joke compared to the old 172 ) found that they were very good and very sharp with 0 brake fade but at a cost of £ 680 toooooooo much money .
how about the ones with groovs are they any good. Does the brake changes muck up your insurance or is it only power mods that does that ?
PS is it true that the front brakes do 90 % of the braking on a 172 as they are huge at 288 mm the size of dinner plates ?
What would be the best to do on changing the brakes on my mk 1 172.
Change pads all round for hi performance ones or change just front disc and pads to hi performance ones as rear ones are fairley new ???????
But i thought that the cotton ones were more free flowing ive seen one on bb that looks like a green one for about £ 40 - %5 .
So you think that a viper would be a wast of money without maby a chip or ecu re map i can see why you say go for a replacement filter over a viper as your getting...
Hi all am a new member and just got my 172 mk 1 last sat. Very Very happy with it and just need a bit of info on air filters.
What would be the best thing to do a pannal filter or a viper . I will not be doing any other mods than an air filter so would be gratefull for opinions and advice on...
