Tried 'canister' instead of 'cannister' and found this thread, looks pretty simples :)

Seems that 'charcoal filtering system' is the proper name!
(Hopefully that will be enough keywords for future...
Hi guys,
Currently trying to remove my carbon cannister (under drivers side wheel arch) because I think it's ticking (wanna rule out tappets), but having troubles getting the pipe (~7mm black plastic) off that attaches to the top (the one that runs towards the rear of the car). There was a...
Wow, that is awesome! Massive thanks - bookmarked :)
Edit: It just broke, I hope it wasn't me? Looks like there is an extra bit of code (semi colon) in core.php on line 48...
Yeah I'm too much of a pussyto go buggering about with electrics and alternators and stuff! Maybe one day...
Cage should be arriving from Mark Fish next week sometime :)
Thanks! Really enjoying it... defo worth a look next time you change car I reckon :approve:
Haha, it's all good
Well, the previous owner(s) have done the hard stuff to be honest, I'm just gonna add a cage, RARB, pulled some stuff out, make a few carbon bits to tidy it up, then take it to the track!
Thanks man!
Cheers - got a Safety Devices 6 point bolt-in on order, should be...
Cheers guys! The previous owner(s) seem to have selected some good bits yeah, just need to use it properly now...
Ash - yeah I need to get more stuff out but I haven't got your skills, time or trailer to go as far as you guys did, haha. Door cards are out though and made some carbon ones...
I'm doing a bit of work on my 172 Cup to make it track-ready, so will post updates here as and when I've done anything. Won't be anything special compared with other cars like Chrispy's, but it'll keep everything in one place as reference for me...
Here's a thread I made when I first got the...
Thanks man!
Managed to source some used Superturismos which aren't mega light as far as I am aware, but are within my budget and aren't terrible by any means. Also decided to give Federal 595 RS-Rs a go...
Thanks again for everyone's help :)
Well that told me :D hehe.
The difference in circumference ends up about 6% which is waayy too much I think, so 15s it is. Time to hit the search!
Cheers gents.
Good point well made, haha. There seem to be a fair few on eBay at the moment and I've found a few sites advertising they always have them in (around £150ish a set too)... But as you said, there must be a reason...
Hi guys,
Looking to get a second set of wheels only for track use, and have been given the idea by a friend that I could possibly go for some 17s and therefore benefit from cheap, used slick tyres from race cars etc.
Now, obviously the diameter would increase a bit over the standard 195/45/16s...
Nice one dude - had a bit of a go at it yesterday, everything is out now apart from the dash, heaters and glove box. Probably dropped around 25kg. Need to get some resistors so I can remove most of the airbag loom, it's bloody heavy! It's gonna be pretty much a track-only car so I don't mind it...
Found a bit of history about the car... Looks like it was destined for LSD, cage, 4-pot brakes - the lot - but got sold... (Probably no interest to you guys but I wanted to stick all the links in one place as reference for me!)

Hi gents,
Picked this up on Monday evening, not had chance to give it a proper thrashing yet but feels very go-kart-y! Intended use is a toy/track car, hoping to get a cage and spare set of wheels sorted asap so I can get my ass to Cadwell park and play with some Evos and Scoobys :D
All pretty...
Sweet - thanks for the link, I'll check em out. RARB sounds like it would be the way to go then, cheers guys.
As for weight saving, I'm pretty much at a dead end it seems - very little else to do other than foglights, wing mirror motors, power steering and a few bits of trim?
Thanks Jack! I did look at the Pro Race 1.2s, pretty sweet and not toooo pricey. Hopefully I can get a package with some Yoko A048s or R888s on. Car is already on 15s with the OZ F1s and it does feel pretty 'agile' :)
It's already had a few other upgrades including AVO GTX coilovers (and been...
Awesome, thanks Soot1e, will have a look tonight.
Yeah, looking into a cage, they are bloody pricey! Might try a local welding place...
Thanks so far for the quick replies :)
Starting to sound very much like there's not much I can do without putting my hand in my pocket...? Short of crazy stuff like cutting second skin out of boot and bonnet...
