Ah, no way! He said someone had arranged to view it and didn't turn up - I thought I'd proper missed out. lol Exactly what I wanted - a good project, unlike my old GTi which was too good really.

They are awesome fun! Agreed, love white. Fix it up a little, lower it some more and find some nice wheels! LSD and some practice drifting will follow when money allows Haha £950. Which I thought was alright considering it had coilovers and is pretty much sound mechanically. Awesome...

I laughed when I saw the sill! Awesome paint skills. It's not rotten though, so that's the main thing!

    My new MX5 (Shed Content)

Well, I've ordered a Clutch this morning - so I'll get that done firstly as it slips in 3rd and 4th. Then sort the front end out as the paint's flaking off... and the brilliantly painted sill! haha. Eventually I'll sling it on a set of wide 13 or 14's and buy an LSD... I'd love to turbo it, but...

    My new MX5 (Shed Content)

Well, the GTI went on Monday and I've been hankering after a MK1 MX5 for a long time now. I spotted this particular example on PistonHeads going quite cheap, so yesterday I made a 400mile round trip to go and pick it up. It's a 1990 UK model fitted with a set of budget coilovers which are rock...

Coilovers, Cleaned, and Finished I Think lol.

Christ, that's good looking! Front end is spot on. Rear needs spacing out very slightly... But you've done a good job on that!

Surely something as low powered as an MX5 would need all the help it can get to get sideways? I'll be honest, i just don't want to pay £300+ for a second hand LSD that might be completely worn out... lol

I thought that might be the case... Are welded diff's not a pain in the balls when you're parking/turning on full lock though?

Yeah, seemed odd that it was more noticeable on two gears... I'll bear it in mind when I view the next one Drifting looks tricky! Do you have an LSD or just an open diff? Interested to see how much difference they make tbh

What's your gearbox like? I went to go try one out yesterday, and it felt like you had to proper force the gears in.. especially 5th/reverse. Would that just be down to high mileage or are they all like that?
