Bird *#?! needs to be lifted off rather than wiped off so like JD said a pressure washer would have been your friend, all the actual muck would/should have come off then you could have simply treated any stains left with a polish.
My mrs' 182 has some michelins on the rear which have lasted 30k and are still going strong, well amazed tbh mind you she doesn't drive it hard EVER (I do when i get it however lol).
They are satin black mate, opted against the laquer as I felt it would look too shiny. This one matches the rear pretty damn well.
