Good cars if you get a good un , get a bad un and you could be throwin away plenty of cash :(
Quite a few on here .

Was close to gettin a valver a few years ago , couldn't find a good un anywhere , travelled all over the place .
I must admit , still think that the Williams has that wow factor , very nice cars :)
Think i'll stick with my 1.2 that looks like a 182 , lol ;)
There ya go mate , it doesn't always have to be quite up to the performance of the RS clios to have fun . Theres plenty of other good cars out there like your old golf . Just comes a time when you have to get rid and get something newer .
^^^^ What a good idea . Because it always seems to rear its ugly head frequently . I normally try to steer clear of these kind of threads myself , but seems i got drawn into this one
Exactly the reason i bought the 172 and 182 new , a 3 year warranty , after a certain age a car can start to become a bottomless pit , throwing good money after bad just to keep it on the road . Just cos i had a few quid knocking about doesn't mean to say i should throw it away on an older more...
I don't think it was me , might have been , i could have been in a daydream , dreaming of the day when i own a 182 and get rid of this shitty little 1.2 ,lol ;)
I've only seen 1 172 cup in Darwen , that was late last year at the bottom of Hollins grove St when i still had the silver 172 ...
Fcuk me i've met some clowns in my time but you take the Big Red Nose for being King Clown :clown:
1. The head gasket and clutch were on the way out , would have cost more than the car was worth .
2. Because i happened to have alot of spare cash just doin' nothing in my bank account ;)
Figures mean jack s**t to me mate . Its on the road that counts , and imho , the 306 S16 is more than a match for a clio 172 / 182 , i've owned all 3 mate , you know what i'm sayin ;)
And don't forget , the S16'S are around 12 years old now , so 155bhp was quite a powerful car then , as it is...
Well having owned a 306 S16 , a mk2 172 and now a 182 at least i am in the position to make this statement . And unless my eyes deceived me i couldn't pull away from the 306 S16 .
What year was the 306 ? New or old shape . I had a 306 S16 155bhp a few years ago , standard apart from lower springs and it pulled like a train , with the wider track and longer wheel base , could out handle a 172 imo .
I also had a little run in with a 306 S16 a couple of months ago on the...
Re: Brake discs are f**ked
Glad to see you got the problem sorted out under the warranty and that Renault have acknowledged that there is a problem with some of the brakes , quite a few people have reported on here that their brakes weren't performing as they should . Could be a big help to...
You'll be ok to mix it mate . 4.75 litres without the oil filter change . Its a sod to get at so remove the fuel rail cover to gain better access , 2 x 10mm bolts .
Not much really . One thing that seems to be common is the knocking on full right hand lock that can be sorted by Renault , mine has it but i can't be bothered to let the Renault monkeys hack away at my car .
Usual renault rattles , you just have to live with em , mines not as bad as my 172...
When and where ? If it was today it wasn't me , not ventured outside yet , lol .
What do ya drive i'll keep an eye out for ya , my reg starts with FH55 if you spot me flash again .
Top quality pics there mate . Some fantastic lookin' machines :) I'm guessin' that your batteries ran flat before you had a chance to take some pics of the 172's and 182's lol ;)
How you finding the ebc pads and disks ? Any better , worse than the stock Renault ones ?
There seems to be a few things you can do from reading past posts on here .Depends on your budget .
Not listed in any specific order :
182 exhaust manifold .
Viper air filter with cold air feed...
So i'm assuming he's a mobile guy ? Isn't there any garages in or around Edinburgh that do wheel alignment ?
Back to your question . Firstly i would contact the guy and ask him about the extra charge ( no guns blazin' for now ). Tell him that it was his idea that the venue was change and that...
If it was cat b it shouldn't have even been on the road .
B - Not for resale. Damaged beyond economical repair and/or severe structural damage.
Notification of Destruction required. (Parts can be removed and sold). Recorded at DVLA & HPI.
No Haynes manual for the 172/182 engines . Edde e mailed me a pdf for the 172 engine , don't know if it will be any good for you ?
Pm me with your e mail address if you want me to send it to you .
If the car was bent as you put it, it wouldn't be allowed back on the road .
There was a series not long ago on SKY with Vicky Butler Henderson ,they fixed cat d write offs and put em back on the road for a prospective buyer , they had to go through a very stringent test , chassis , wheel...
Nothing wrong with a cat d car . It has to go through a rigorous test before it is deemed roadworthy , you can save a few grand with a cat d .
