Since converting, and using the occasional PC inbetween, My mac bareley ever gets 'Non responding', I think I have had the multicoloured circle about 5 times in nearly 2 years, where has on a PC I get about 5 non responding per useage of a computer!
When I bought my 3GS, the 4 came out within 6 months, with meoming from a crap phone - I definitely made the right decision, however if I had a 3GS at the moment, i would just hold on or something newer!
Even if the 5 is released rather than a 4gs equivalent, it won't be worlds apart from a 4...

Just googled the link for me as a Nottingham Trent student, as you have to be on campus to use it. http://store.apple.com/uk_edu_5000748 for my link, this gives the basic 27 for £1231, plus £48 for the apple care plan!
