I looked around as well as her, the cheapest possible for the right one from eBay for hers was about £60 for both, and they both looked very sketchy and from foreign importers who would have taken far longer to deliver than needed. (Two massive assignments due in within the next fortnight).

£999 for an iMac - student discount of around £120 = £880. £800ish - student discount for a Macbook = £700ish. Normal laptop = £400-£450. My girlfriends dell had a battery life of around 5 minutes after a year, leading to her needing a new charger and battery at the cost of £100...

99p for a new single is a bit extortionate though tbf.

Mine is 16 months old, no problem with magnets or cracking. Bit of polish on the dirty white parts and it's fine. Common sense really when buying a white laptop, cleaning solves it. Simples.

They're both slow His is less plasticy, rattly etc. His will be better built, but it cost more. Likewise, If you went and spent more you could get a BMW. I would rather the Polo over a Clio!
