Re: Road/Track 172 In the mid range we went safe with timing which has caused a dip in the torque , on the road this isn't nearly as bad as the graph would suggest . I actually wanted it left like this just now to aid traction out of corners until I get a diff.

Re: Road/Track 172 Mapping went well today peak power we seen was 230.1 bhp ,but after pulling a little timing for safety we ended up with 228.9 bhp and 176.9 ftlb . We tried upping the rev limit to 7800 rpm but made no more power so capped it at 7500 since I'm still on standard rods.

Re: Road/Track 172 I'm going to be working away a lot over the next couple of months, but if I can get it mapped and sorted in time I would like to get out in March to the open pit day. im just going to be using itfor trackdays but may try a round of SLS later in the year if the car qualifies.

Really hope this car lives up to all your expectations,when you get it back. I was in the same position with a escort cosworth years ago ,and once I got the car back after almost a year it lasted 4 months before being broken for parts.

Is it a case of massive over fueling causing bore wash ?

Those are exhaust ports he is showing the size difference between phase 2 , and phase 1 exhaust ports. The gasket is for a phase 1 which has 30% bigger ports as standard.

Re: JC5-140 Ratios Do you know what the gearing in them is ment to be like to as in is it fairly close ratio? I can't find the ratios for the 145 anywhere but have found a place listing that box so have emailed them.

Re: JC5-140 Ratios Sorry Yanoo I have just re read the PM and it is actualy a JC5-145 box not a 140 do you have the ratios for this box. It has also been fitted with a 4.5 final drive, thats how i got the lower speed when working out the 140 box as with the standard FD it will do 140mph.

Does anyone have a list of the jc5-140 box ratios please ? I've had a look and can't find anything other than it was fitted to the 1.5dci clios.

Going to a 84mm bore will give 2061.54cc ,I think thats the largest off the shelf pistons you can buy.

Only place I would use local to me would be Anderson Engineering , but Agra in Dundee have a decent rep aswell.
