It was easy enough to buy a 3GS last year so it'll probably not be a big problem to upgrade to the latest handset this year. If you have a Apple store local to you then even better as they always have lots of stock.

I would as for me this works better as mail delivery is instant. Your Gmail account within Mail on the Mac should also be set for IMAP and will update the status automatically too.

Wait for the new iPhone and move onto a Sim only plan with another network for now. Get a official unlock request processed with o2 first though if you've not done so already so that your iPhone 3G will officially work on all networks.

Re: iPhone "must have" apps? The FaceBook app does that now anyway. For MobileMe users the new Gallery app is quite good.

Only the HDD is a better spec and that is a quick and easy upgrade. The SD slot, illuminated keyboard and Firewire port are better selling points. Also the MBP can be upgraded to 8GB RAM compared to 4GB on the MacBook.

I always find that jailbreaking slows the iPhone down so I prefer to run the OS as standard.

It usually updates every day after 1am, has done for a long time now.

I ventured into the Hackintosh way of things and in the end I bought a 13" MBP because it did everything better than my Dell did. The Dell trackpads I've used have all been terrible and unresponsive. They may be a cheaper option but they do not offer the same quality experience.

Have both then you get the best of both worlds. I think the graphics look good in the video linked to above and with the wheel I know the gameplay will be excellent. The only issue is will this game ever be released during my lifetime!

With a good wheel and seat combo Prologue is excellent fun and much more realistic than with the standard controller.

Same software on both and similar spec too. If you know anyone doing a Degree course at Uni then you can pick up the 13" MBP for roughly the same price by using the 15% Higher Education discount at a Apple Store. Buy a larger HDD afterwards and fit it yourself for very little cost.

ATV hacked with XBMC is very good for playing non HD downloads.
