I had the same van for a couple of years - I thought it was great compared to the tranny connect I had.

The 172 I bought years ago was put up for sale by a woman who had just spent over £1000 repairing the head after the belt had snapped, the garage who rebuilt it put waaaaay too much oil in it and it went pop again only a few days in my ownership - hence new engine for me :)

Do you make money/lose money overall? I'm curious as I seem to hold on to cars too long probably due to the fear factor, if I find a decent one I keep hold until it stars to go wrong!

You're right about paint, but for many people they won't even get that far down the advert, they see the mileage and scroll on past sadly.

The wheels really let it down, it's one of the worst designs they did on the Mk3!

I've been to plenty of 'shops, and they have never rectified anything to a decent standard if it was tosh in the first place, so for me I can see this not ending well!

Naaa 99% of the time it just works - the latest update has solved my recording issues. Although I rewound a program this morning and it refused to stop doing it - just kept going, had to power it off!

It feels a million years ago seeing this blasting round Blackburn! It only had a cup engine back then, and I was still in a Mk1!

There is genuine and skoda, NO (I SAID NO!) others look any good. I know the genuine ones cost a bomb but they look so right! Don't know how much they are but mine was well into 3 figures when I got it.

Do not touch that - at all.....! If it was mine it would have a genuine splitter but that;s just because I prefer them to the skoda one's - despite the cost!
