I may be wrong, but I thought Clio Sports had hydraulic power steering assistance, whereas all, or at least some of the rest of the Clios had electric power steering. Hydraulic assistance, I'm told, has better "feel" than electric.
Shouldn't look narrow compared to a 195. Race tyres sizes are the width across the tread, not the width across the bag like for road tyres. A 185 Dunlop race tyre is the width of a 205 road tyre.
The 185/580R15 is Dunlop makes for the Clio Cup cars to race on. The thing though is that the Clio...
Don't know whether its the case where you are, but pretty much everywhere in the western world its the rule that if a TV screen can be seen by the driver it has to shut off when the vehicle is moving and/or the engine is running. It is usually an offence to have a TV display that is visible to...
Your speedo almost certainly reads high now. Ie, when it says 100 your probably doing 92-94. If you put 195/45x15s on it will read even higher. When it says 100 you will actually be doing 89-91.
The 45 profile will have a 19.5 mm smaller rolling diameter. That will lower your car by 9.75 mm...

Around town:
340 miles to the warning light going on saying I need to fill up (43.5 L)
390 miles to empty
On a trip:
(a) not in the Northern Territory
370 miles to the warning light
430 miles to empty
(b) in the Northern Territory - no open road speed limit
300 miles to...

I see you have an N14 SSS.
I had a N15 SSS.
I thought I'd do do one of two things. Either upgrade the SSS's SR20DE engine to the 190 bhp VTEC version by buying an imported Japanese SR20VE and swapping the head over. Or save myself all the trouble of driving a modified car by trading...
Not misinformation!!!!
Toothed rubber belts are quiet and they're compact. But they are notorious for failing. Most other car companies who first tried them 30-40 years ago either switched back to chains or they fixed the problems with the belts. It is a disgrace that Renault is still using...
I have a Thule.
Yes it fits into the rear non-opening window. It looks like a dodgy way to do it, and the rear rack is a lot lower than the front, meaning that anything on the rack gets air under it and tries to lift. But Thule is the only brand that doesn't require drilling holes in the roof...
Keeping the air speed up on the intake side of the air filter boosts torque a bit at middle revs by preventing flow reversals as pressure pulses bounce back and forth in the induction system as valves open and close. But the less restriction there is the higher the peak power will be. Also the...
I had a look on the Jetway web site and they don't list any such a motherboard. But that happens a lot with motherboards.
You've picked the second best mini-ITX CPU.
Here's a board that uses the best one.

AMD's Geode NX CPU is simply a...
The rear seats weigh bugger all. Taking them out just makes the car noisier because they stop noise coming forward from the rear suspension. I know because I regularly have to fold them to carry things, and folding them gets in the way of the front seats and crumples the seat material, so its...
Can't find a Jetway board with a C7 processor. C3, yes, C7, no. What's the model and/or where's it from?
And a 3.5" HDU is an unusual choice. Does it fit on the Voom case? I thought they only took 2.5" drives.
Its not surprising the Clio 197 is essentially the same width as a Megane. Because that's where it inherited its front subframe and suspension from. That's how they got the width to fit the 6 speed Nissan gearbox in that they couldn't fit in previously. But simply taking the front of a Megane...
You can't rely on either the speedo or the dash computer being right on a Clio Sport. Any Clio Sport.
Renault engineers are lazy slack b*stards who just can't be bothered getting all the little engineering things like them right. Even the cheapest cars from other manufacturers are better. You...
I have a tow bar on my Mk2 172.
I wanted a car able to tow a light trailer. For getting the race kart to the track and taking rubbish to the dump every so often. The Renault web site listed a tow bar for all the smaller-engined Clios, but not the 2 litre. So I told to the dealer no towbar or...
There are two issues. The size of the wheel itself. And the rolling diameter of the tyre.
A wheel/tyre combination is heavier and is harder to accelerate if it is either wider or the wheel is a larger diameter. A heavier wheel tyre combination degrades ride and fractionally reduces...
I've got a tow bar.
Liked the idea of the Clio. Saw that no tow bar was offered as an option when it was on all the other smaller engined Clios's. Asked the dealer if there was any reason I couldn't have one, or whether Renault just thought people who bought that model wouldn't want one. Said...
1. The too-sharp cutoff of the homofocal low beams. Sure it prevents glare to other road users. But you need to be able to see things. Street signs. Speed signs. Warning signs. Reflectors on the back of bicycles.
2. The very badly-designed control stalk for the lights. It controls too many...
I had a similar problem. The Renault dealership said they noticed something wrong and that they had "reloaded the cells". In the course of trying to confirm whether that meant they'd overwritten the map that Superchips installed I had to admit to having the ECU re-chipped. Eventually they...
The power increase claims are plausible.
The mpg improvement isn't plausible.
The fact that the seller seems unwilling to give a brand or business name is plain worrying. It makes it look dodgy.
Go to someone who's willing to say who they are and where they do business from and put their...
Just wait until it breaks then put a new one one.
Its all right, you car can go hundreds of kilometres without a water pump and alternator and power steering pump. On the back of a tow truck.
This is a serious answer.
Halogen bulbs have a quartz envelope, not glass like an old-style incandescent globes. You can clean them with a gentle solvent loke alcohol. Isoropyl alcohol cleaning pads are readily available for lots of uses, like cleaning computer equipment.
Mine's crap, and Renault either can't or won't fix it properly. And I mean serious expensive problems like the gearbox. Its barely up to the Clio's Sport's power, so its fragile. Along with a bunch of other things in the car like wheel bearings and lots of other bits and peices. So I started a...
There's a guy here in Oz who has 205/50x15 R888s on a Clio sport he runs in hillclimbs very successfully. But while he seemed very positive about how well they do that job, he was negative about using them on a road car. He thought their life would be so short that you'd have to be crazy to use...
Your amplifier has to be able to supply rapidly varying amounts of current to your speakers to accurately reproduce the music/sound being played. The resistance of the car's battery and the cabling limits that ability. Putting a very large capacitor as close as possible on the +12V supply to the...
Electric superchargers have been ridiculed plenty of times on this forum.
Yes an electric motor driven air pump like the eBay device could improve your engine's power. But car engines need huge amounts of air at full throttle and it would take huge amounts of power to pump enough extra to...
