Hi, Have managed to source an Aux belt kit for £60 + postage and have a quote to fit both kits for £180 (or thereabouts!). To keep this inside my budget can anywhere offer the Cam belt kit (would prefer genuine or Gates) for under £100? So far if I get the Cam belt kit for £110 that...

    Oil consumption advice needed...

Mine has had oils service at 14k, 24k and 35k (mid December had Elf 5W40). Now it has covered 37k and very low already. Either was not topped up quite enough when I had the service or it is drinking oil! Anyone confirm this is normal? Car is driven 5 days a week almost 60 miles which...

Sudden banging / knocking from exhaust......

And not the increase in rev limit from 6750 (i think) to 7500? Spoke to a Renault Tech yesterday (he has owned 13 RS Clio's) and said that the increase in rev limit may have slightly moved the engine and top mount may need adjusting? Thoughts? May just upgrade dogbone bushes but will see...

Devon /Cornwall 1st meet of the year

Agree - the more the merrier! Will be good to catch up with you all following some good meets in 2010! Working in Exeter it would be an ideal meeting place :rasp: Not sure on a venue mind you, maybe down the quay for some grub? Some good places down there including the Waterfront - just...

Sudden banging / knocking from exhaust......

Took it into local Protyre and one of my rear exhausts mounts was shot so likely the exhaust movement is causing this. They found slight metal to metal contact from the manifold to the subframe but dogmount seemed in good order. Wondering if it is worth replacing the bushes in this to reduce...

Sudden banging / knocking from exhaust......

.........was driving up a dual carriageway and was driving near rev limit. Heard a sudden knocking banging which I am assuming was the exhaust (Janspeed full system). Had new rear mounts and centre mount in the last 2 months. Puzzled, thought the sound was more underneath than rear but not...

    172 or 182?

I think that washer blanks look fine in black, not really a fan of all the colour coding!

    172 or 182?

Before you decide think about how you are going to drive it. I do a 30 mile commute each way in the Trophy and miss the comfort of my old 172FF.
  28. bearne1

182 with 6000 miles on it.

Have to agree - the bodywork for a start is likely to have no marks, stone chips, etc. Keep it garaged and it will be a future classic in that condition although its a shame it is not a trophy. ;)
