Do like the ep3 having owned one for 5 years and it was hands down the most reliable motor I've ever owned. They're getting a bit old now and most cheap ones will have terminal rust and It'd have to have engine mods as well as they just aren't quick in standard form.
Like the idea of a s2k but...
Yeah f**k a Clio, they're to fragile! Think it would be a Honda if I were to buy something else, as you can red line them without worrying about valves trying to make an exit.
I know what you mean and being aluminium you wouldn't want to knacker the calliper. There's a place you can send them of to and they'll extract them for around £20 each nipple, cant think of the place now, let me have a search.
So in the coming months I'll be in the hunt for a new car, had my heart set on a M135i or 235I auto. The plan was use it for the 15k miles a year commute, daily/weekend duties and then around 5 track days a year, but i'm having doubts about using it for the latter due to the cost of the car...
I'm just gonna fly down the shop after the track day and get a s**t load of ice and throw all my beers in the multiple cooler bags we have so they'll stay cold all night. Not getting leathered on the Friday again like 2016, few beers and a bbq this time, anyone welcome to come over for a spam...
My commute is a 50 mile round trip from Liverpool to Manchester, the Skoda is about as extreme as i'd care to go. Did it a few times in the track spec 182 with AST's with 11kg springs and EPAS it was truly a horrible experience!
First off with the ignition on 1 without the engine started pump the pedal until rock hard and leave your foot on it to see if it travels down slightly if it stays solid, then start the car with your foot on the pedal and it should now go down as normal, this rules out a leak in the MC or lines...
The abs system on these cars are shocking, First thing to check would be the fuse, then clean all the built up disc/pad shards that stick to the sensors, then check the reluctor rings for rust, cracks or if they've moved away from under the sensor, if its a cracked ring then the offending side...
Looks great that! Defo will benefit from the Eibach springs and callipers could do with a paint, but looks very clean. I'd keep the turini's as well, they'll look much better when lowered maybe with some spacers look even better.
What a way the ruin the new car experience! That would pi$$ me right off!
It might come off with a machine polish and some fine cutting fluid. It'll take a layer of the clear coat with it mind.
Good vid. No talk of the lack of diff as per most people's gripe, do you feel it's decent enough without?
Was looking at this today albeit the M135i, just think it would make sense to buy one fitted with a diff and suspension given the cost and that I'd also track it...
