I've pulled the front liners of mine to aid cooling via the fog lights, but tbh probably doesn't do much as there's the carbon canister driver side and horn/acoustic valve passenger side in the way...
Get a set of camber bolts and ask for as much negative camber as possible, and doing 5/6 days a year you need a spare set of wheels and track rubber really as you'll just be burning through (unevenly) your road tyres at cost.
I got my OE cup packed front dampers from EBay for £79 from Renault Wolverhampton, not sure on the 172cup but should be similar priced. Think the rears where around £60. I coupled these to AMAX (APEX) springs from ECP.
Honesty mate, just pay the extra £166 and get the BC BR's with adjustable solid top mounts from Kamracing. As @JamesBryan said the RSX kits have really soft springs for a track car.
If like a 1*2 you should just be able to tighten the handbrake cable from underneath as they stretch over time, or maybe the cable has actually snapped to the O/S?
Just received notification that the Mintex M1155 pads will be with me tomorrow, so will let you know how they compare to CL5+ and DS2500 as I've used both on track. All 3 have a very similar coefficient so will be interesting if they're as good at near half the price.
As above check the servo vacuum pipe, they can melt if the engine is left long enough idling.
The rear locking up sounds like the ABS system has a fault as it reverts to 50/50 leading to the rears locking under hard braking, but you'd probably get a load of dash lights if so.
I've just purchased these Mintex M1155's pads for £70. Not received them yet as lead time is around 30 days but they will do a job for you mate if you can wait the 30 days. Standard discs are fine as long as not cheapo ones and past there best. Fluid most, inc myself go for ATE TYP200, 1L should...
Wouldn't bother with 4 pots mate, been there done that and they're total overkill for a part time track car. Spend the cash on something like Bilsteins or BC's instead.
Lively is definitely not for me, I had a 'lively' moment going through Island bend last time out at Oulton, I was like a granny through there the rest of the day, losing 2s a lap over last time out. I blame the rear cage for stiffening the chassis up .
