Graham's summer 172 cup track car

Yeah it’s 100% needed but £2k that will definitely be going on the house for a while. I've been desperate for a gripper for some time but would definitely want to be trailering the car around if I got one making it an even more expensive mod! Suspension changes really are making a difference at...

Graham's summer 172 cup track car

Cheers dude! I’m trying my best to work out what people enjoy watching and also what’s manageable to film on the day! Martin’s Dad got the fly bys and did a top job. Had thought of that and think they would have to go on a separate channel unless I can find a way of stopping notifications when...

Graham's summer 172 cup track car

It was very entertaining, felt like it came from no where! The other one is @Martin. drifting round clear ways we were both getting used to the vastly different handling characteristics of the cars after fitting the roll centre kit. Will probably play with the rear ARB after fitting the ASTs...

Brands Hatch What a brilliant day! Back in November after doing Bedford I was browsing the MSVT website to see when season opener was an up popped a full day at Brands for £100, a bargain not to be missed! A quick text to @Martin. saw him booked on too and so the prep began. Prep started a page...

    USB 3.0 internal card readers

I bought an asaka 3.0 from maplin at the weekend which turned out to be a bit of a fail. It transfered for about 20 seconds before crashing on every device and all the slots were upside down. Anyway I'm now on the hunt for a decent internal 3.0 card reader if anyone has good experience with one.

    James' 172 Cup Project

Thanks James :) Glad we got to the bottom of it as I was totally boggled for a bit! Car looks like a lovely example.

No need to drill those out. I could be remembering this totally wrong but I think when you take the cap off there’re two torx and that’s it.

Graham's summer 172 cup track car

Thanks matey, it's a shed but somehow keeps working! The filler neck is just one or two easily accessible screws from under the lid then it should pop out. Tank doesn't need to come out for that. It's only taken me a little while in the past to swap it over but now it's more of a pain I'll...

Roll Centre and Bump Steer Correction Just a quick update with what I've been working on over the past couple of weeks. Ant from @ACS_Motorsport popped down to give @Martin. and I a hand fitting his plug and play roll centre and bump steer correction kit. Typically it snowed on Saturday night...

    incy-spiders Clio 182 turbo

Always really enjoy reading this thread. It's just a case of, there's an issue, sort it, no faffing and no bother about small issues. Looks like a brilliant trip, would like to do something similar myself. :)

Graham's summer 172 cup track car

Unfortunately Tom is right. A bus crept up on me and had a little kiss with the side. I'm intending to have it repaired one day but can't see the money for that coming anytime soon! don't you remember it was fighting for pole position on the last lap of a fierce race..nudge nudge ;)

You mean ability to fluke it! Before this track day I did 30 mins of prep on the clio! Is it a 4c? I'm in ;) Thanks matey. Comments like that are why I do these project threads and videos! Hopefully more frequent and more interesting videos on the horizon :)

Graham's summer 172 cup track car

Bedford GT 4th November Headed up to Bedford on Saturday with my buddy and his Pontiac TransAM. Had an awesome day despite the awful weather. The Clio took a lot of water through the roof scoop so I need to get something to keep in the glovebox for those rainy days. There was litres of water in...

Graham's summer 172 cup track car

The fit is seriously good! Tom has a shell he mocks up the cage in so has mm perfect measurements of where the feet need to go! I can't pretend I wasn't super impressed by all the feet going in with such precision!

Graham's summer 172 cup track car

Cadwell Prep started exactly a week ago today. After Brands I didn't expect much to be wrong with the Clio but wanted to check a couple of things as the journey either side of track time was pretty long. Unfortunately the pads had been totally hammered by Brands and looked like they didn't...

    EPAS on 172 Cup

You've got it right 225 is the diagnostic socket (OBD), 502 is the powersteering multiplug. On the OBD there is only one (or two I forget) which goes into the diagnostic plug but on the wiring diagram you should be able to see a junction where multiple wires join into this wire further up...

    EPAS on 172 Cup

@eon172 @adir Here you are chaps. I'd deleted it from the dropbox as it was as capacity. Not sure if there's a way to permanently embed the file in the forum :S https://www.dropbox.com/s/l3vsq408n4ewm0d/Power%20Steering%20Wiring.xlsx?dl=0

    Removing Sunroof

Yeah, you can't do it the sheet metal is too thin and will warp if you try to weld anything in it's place. The only option is to reskin the roof, not a cheap job. Just seal up the sunroof, I did mine properly and had no issues ever again.

Brilliant, photobucket has really done me over. Anyway, over to flickr I go. Haven't done much on the cup recently because I've been busy with other things but managed to swap over the pads to RC8s before doing Brands last Wednesday. Before the day I was a bit unhappy with the brakes so, with...

Home cctv and phone apps? recommendations please!

I got a Swann 1080p kit off eBay, 2tb hard drive, motion detection, can view on phone and send email notifications, plug and play kit which is really good. Think it's the 4550 model, can't remember but I like it a lot. Just beware some companies list the cameras as "professional" but when you...

Cruise control on a RS 172 or a dCi (DIY)

Your laptop would need to be a 32bit OS for it to work. I should have mine up and running in a few weeks. Sounds like the wiring stops at the bulkhead connector.

Cruise control on a RS 172 or a dCi (DIY)

is there a clutch switch already in the car? it sounds like there might be then. It will however work without one as the switch just earths that pin when the pedal is depressed. You'll need clip to turn cruise control on in the clocks. I have clip but my laptop needs repairing before it'll be...
