Fold the resistor wire three times either end so its thicker (and shorter)
Or as @1812lsd said.
You can get away with a single/double fold if you leave a loop at the end but it's loser and probably wont make contact properly.
Well lower than 140k should last longer.
Although that said from what I've read mileage doesn't really matter to much its all about how its been kept.......Correct myself again even if its kept well it can still go. Take @Dr Jekyll and his mishaps for instance
I'd get a lower mile engine, get all the belts done while its out or buy one with them already done, chuck it in with new clutch as above and enjoy a fair enough thousand miles of happy driving
At first i'd think engine mounts on the vibration side of things but you say you lose power, could be the drive shaft has worn off the teeth but that's unlikely so im at a loss
@GrahamS fancy giving mine a go some time ;) I'm useless with wiring and soldering!
Got my heater control panel to go in and still not confident just swapping pins around :(
Ok cool. I currently have my heater controls unplugged as i'm doing the ph1 to ph2 dash conversion (using the analogue controls) but the dash dimmer isn't working so my guess is its probably that that is the issue :)
Does anyone know if this is on the same circuit?
If the heater controls aren't plugged in I'm guessing this could be why my dash dimmer has just stopped working?
Not sure if I can be arsed to rip up the cup carpet again to change it.
I'll be getting the 182 seats :) will try and get enough leather to retrim the Ph1 rear head rests as I prefer them.
Fuse cover would be great, don't suppose you have the coin tray that goes by the clock as well do you?
Yeah started it at around half 1 and finished at about 5, didn't take long with two of us.I've got an OMP on so should be ok. Probably just wear down over time although doesn't look like it's catching. I may need to swap out the self tappers for counter sunk screws if that's the problem
Got a...
So i di the ph2 dash conversion today
A whole lot easier than the guide might suggest!
Didnt get a before pic.. everyone knows what a ph1 dash looks like. mine was in a bit of a sorry state with marks all over the silver etc and the top dash was melting and would just rub off if you...
So i got this done today... well not the wiring but the conversion
went really well... however...
2 issues really. First is one i've probably caused myself and the second one i cant for the life of me figure out why its doing it.
1. Dash dimmer switch no longer works (tried both...
Mine are also the wrong way round but they have been cut by a previous owner for some stupid reason. I don't have any airbag lights on though so doesn't help much
