Has anyone completely ditched carrying cards? Are Apple/Android/Samsung/Google pay adequate to not have to carry a card these days?
I've always had wallet style cases, but wondering if I can get away without carrying a card these days.
After loads of faff...
I bought the S21 on Monday, then yesterday they made their offer even better, so cancelled my order, but couldn't trade in my phone again because the IMEI was already in use.
Anyway, now I'm buying an S21 Ultra. The offer stack on Samsung right now is stupid/amazing...

Go to trade in site, I think it's only the S21 range where you get £295 for a broken S9, every other phone it's £195 trade-in value.
Do trade in, then...
IMO the S21+ feels kinda lost in the middle. It's the worst of both worlds for me, not cheap or not 1440.
I probably am a bit tight. You don't think the resolution is that noticable? Coming from the S9+ I also kinda wanna keep the screen edge curve as well, it's minor but I do like it.
Sorry, maybe not being the clearest.
Samsung Trade-In is giving £295 right now if you trade in a broken S9 for any S21. They also have 15% off using code BANKHOL. so after these, and 5% cashback paying with Samsung Pay, I can get an S21 for about £380 and an S21 Ultra for about £700.
Assuming...
I'm so bad at pulling the trigger on these things.
So change of plan, I've bought a damaged S9 on eBay for £60, because the trade-in for that even broken is £295, and it means I can sell my mint S9+ on eBay.
Now I can't decide on S21 vs S21 Ultra; I went to PC World earlier to compare the two...
Think I'm gonna go to a shop and compare the two.
The Ultra has a better resolution than the standard and plus, but with the deal available would still cost me about £700 (down from £1150 retail), and I don't really want to spend that much.
Anyone ever compared a Galaxy S9+ to an S21 (standard, not +)?
Samsung have a deal on for bank holiday, plus they do trade-in, I can upgrade from my S9+ to an S21 for about £350. At first glance this seemed really good, but after comparing the phone specs, many things about the 21 are better...
I'd have a Formentor all day long, probably the nicest looking small SUV thing about, but I'd only have the 310 PS.
It'll be 10 years before I'd be buying one though.
Some of the Cupra stuff isn't decent though?
As I found out from HUKD yesterday, you can get a 190 PS Cupra Formentor, so they're not just reserving Cupra for the decent cars. 190 PS in an SUV is absolute pish, especially as it's the same engine that does 310, but heavily detuned.
Waiting patiently for the new 2021 Macbook's, most of the rumoured changes are music to my ears, no touch bar, magsafe charger, 14" with smaller bezel.
Nothing about the 2021 Macbook?
I could really do with an upgrade from my 2013 Retina, but I don't want a touchbar, I like the sound of 14" with reduced bezel, I want MagSafe etc, all the improvements rumoured sound really good, would've been nice to be confirmed.
Selling to clear gambling debt.
Just the sort of person I want to buy a car from, someone who skimped on maintenance because he hath not a pot in which to piss.
Yeah, that's what shell mode means, although apparently it's actually clamshell.
Just seems like the best option to me. Problem with an all-in-one is say the screen has issues, you're gonna have to throw away a perfectly good PC because the screens broken. Unless you daisychain a second monitor...
Seem utterly pointless to me.
Not as easy to replace parts/repair as a desktop, and not as portable as a laptop.
Any reason not to use the laptop in shell mode and connect it to external monitor and peripherals?
Someone on here had a ridiculously clean Arctic Blue 182 that they put sound deadening in, can't remember who it was. Others might remember it, I remember it because it was the most meticulously well kept car I think I've ever seen, was perfect.
The only thing I would add is, from my experience, once you start using a monitor with low latency, plus you're sat closer to it, you get used to it, and then when you want to use a TV it feels inferior and slightly frustrating.
