It genuinely makes naff all difference. Since your car is Racing Blue, I'll post this instead (back in the old days - talking 10 years ago - of SRP and Natty's Blue);
I would point you to something spray and wipe @JPJ89 - something like C2V3 by GTechniq, AF ToughCoat or CarPro Reload.
My old car with AF Triple topped with C2V3.
In that case I suggest you speak to Jim. He is one of very few people I would let touch my own car and I can vouch for his work on numerous high value vehicles.
Just to pull you up on something here, Stu - dealer prep is horrendous 99% of the time. A new car prep will require a decent amount of correction a lot of the time if it's been prepped at the dealership before you pick it up - that's why so many clean freaks ask dealers not to touch their cars...
Yes that wasn't a particularly useful post. Still feeling the weekend, clearly...!
What I meant to carry on to say was I mentioned to him that I was actually enjoying mine significantly more than my S3 because it needed more concentration. He agreed that was fine and dandy for the weekend i.e...
It's pH neutral and safe, yes. However, it is a thicker consistency than IronX, with a worse spray head and also not as effective.
I would personally therefore only use it on wheels (as you can use a soft brush to agitate on wheels, not on paint work).
I was on a stag do this weekend with an old friend. He's just thrown in the towel with the M135i he has (actually had two as one was stolen within two weeks of getting it...). He's gone for the new RS3, purely based on traction. He had a TTS before the BMW and where he lives (middle of no where...
Lol. I thought you might succumb. How're the brakes coming along?
Presume the oil warm up is programmable on mine too then? One thing I do love are the lights. Very clever.
I'm hoping so mate, re values.
Yep!
Agreed - it was a mongo one off me thinks. The aerial was circa £20 from Hull Stratstone's eGay shop. You can have my old large one if you're desperate? Overnight parts from London Bridge?
Ha!
Ta chap. How's yours?
Once. Bipped a mongo trying to push in from the wrong lane at a set of lights, after he starting moving to close to my front end. As we got to the next lights he pulled the same manoeuvre on the car behind (again got beeped), stopped, got out and came over to both of us asking "what the F I had...
As mentioned above, no major updates as such - just really enjoying the car. It's stupidly responsive in comparison to the the S3. And such a noise.
Few things to add today;
- led rear number plate lights (OEM from BMW with new connectors)
- stubby aerial (again OEM so as not to lose AM...
The E89? Honestly considered one as I like them. 35is. Twin turbo boost bus! But felt the ///M looked and sounded better, plus was more special.
I sound like him, see;
So a few updates to this.
First of all, the springs were replaced as above and the car genuinely feels stiffer and better at the rear. It ended up costing me the same as going to an Indy due to the warranty company paying for half of it, which was a nice surprise on Saturday when the cheque...
Looks ace buddy - they are such great cars. Glad your advice made my decision in the end!!
List of stuff for mine is ever growing... want rather than need in most cases!!
- refurb wheels
- new rear brake light (bought)
- new rear brake discs (bought)
- OEM LED number plate lights and connectors...
