    wiring looms

It's not like the above with clios. They are loomed usually speced to the car. Abs, heater matrix, heater box, aircon, will all be built into 172 ff loom

Why oh why do people love Trendlines?

Oem. Mine are comfy, hold their value and sit nice a low. What's the point in having nice seats if they're always covered?

How long does it take to fit...??

And that can be a bloody horrible job! I'd say 2 all in then

    Car not starting, flickering lights

I can't watch the video but I had this on one of our cars before and the battery was being drained by some rubbish aftermarket wiring. Change the battery. Use some jump leads to try jumping from another car to confirm though

Cruise control on a RS 172 or a dCi (DIY)

Ahh I forgot to add you don't do anything to the uch, just change the ECU and clock settings

Service light as a result of missing airbags

You can programme the airbags out on clip. I've done this for the pretensioners and side airbags when fitting new seats. Resistors otherwise m3r3 from maplin if I remember right.

    Slight temperature issue

Yeah I'd guess at cold weather. When it's all warmed up it should be able to work on atleast fan one without loosing any temperature.

    Aftermarket alarm import 172

Does it work to unlock the car? I would check if any of the original wiring has been damaged before starting to take the original alarm out. With a ecu kit you change the ecu, uch, key fob and decoder ring. Keeping all the same locks. Doesn't take long to change if the ECU cover plays ball.

    Steering veers under braking

So, braided brake lines on the front, still doing exactly the same thing. Will put it on the brake machine again tomorrow to see if it's any better. I'm starting to loose hope with the stupid car now :(

Boot creased in accident - automatic write-off?

time is money. Complications may be found with an older car when replacing panels, there is just an increased risk of carrying out work like that in a car which isn't worth a great deal. If it were a new car with plenty of money left in the pot before it became a t loss then it would be...

    Slight temperature issue

a sign of thermostat is then temp drops when driving but car warms up when stationary as radiator isn't cooling.

Cruise control on a RS 172 or a dCi (DIY)

good to hear you got the pins. You need CLIP to program the clocks. To perform a configuration dashboard, follow the essential steps below: 1 - Make a multiplex network test and ensure compliance. If the multiplex network is not compliant (see MR multiplexing). 2 -. Disconnect then reconnect...

    Slight temperature issue

Heaters being on full drain heat unless your going some. I have my heater on cold until it gets full up to temp as It makes the car warm quicker.

How long does it take to fit...??

springs 1 hour tops for both. Make sure they're the right springs. If not a specialist he's likely to order the wrong springs for the front unless using genuine parts. Rear abs sensor could take 10 minutes if the original comes out easily. Could be much longer if retaining screw is bust.

Is my clio taking too much antifreeze?

No. The 65 with ac has an all in one radiator. check it has the brackets to slot the intercooler in to.

Has anyone fitted an armrest (MK2)?

in a rear wheel drive car with a longitudinally mounted engine yes. The clio like most modern cars is transverse mounted so doesn't have a driveline/gearbox tunnel, only a small bump for the exhaust tunnel. In my golf the arm rest was beautiful when cruising but had to be raised when driving in...

Is my clio taking too much antifreeze?

That's an 80 bhp model isn't it. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Clio-1-5-Dci-80-Radiator-/231416986362?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item35e186fafa Very easy to change yourself in less than an hour.

    Aftermarket alarm import 172

Yes. Get rid of the add in alarm. Buy a new kit. How do you know the original kit doesn't work though. It may be double immobilised.

Has anyone fitted an armrest (MK2)?

I thought about this a while ago I think it would be best to fabricate a bracket that bolts to the bottom of the seat runners. I see no way to mount the pictured one as there isn't a gearbox tunnel like it appears to be designed for.

Boot creased in accident - automatic write-off?

the ph1 172 I had in the summer had a crease in the boot floor. Drove it for thousands of miles, round the ring and through all the alps. It's really nothing to worry about. If the boot is difficult to close do a Jeremy Clarkson and hit it out with a hammer, the boot floors are weak, the rails...

Boot creased in accident - automatic write-off?

Depending on age and mileage that is likely to be dead. Would be easy to repair by giving it a tug on a jig but the insurer will have to put it back to how it was before and a tug is unlikely to do that. This is what I wrote down once if you can be bothered to read it! Estimation The insurer...

    Steering veers under braking

Thanks for all the info Steve, hope you had a good Christmas. I read that article on Tomorros Tech as well and it's what got me looking down the brake line route. I originally had eibach prokit but have now changed to sportlines and the problem persists. All tyres are correctly inflated. Before...

    Steering veers under braking

Ahh adding to the above the tyres were brand new rainsport 2s and have only done 2k! It would be easier to list the parts which haven't been replace ;) Will give my 172 wheels a go though definitely. What would you be looking for on the wishbone? The ball joint is in good condition and doesn't...

    Steering veers under braking

Yeah sorry Steve, let me explain a little better. The car pulls to the left if you forceably keep the steering wheel in the same place. If you lightly hold it the pull is severe and causes the wheel to turn clockwise which keeps the car in roughly a straight line, when I let off the brakes it...

    Steering veers under braking

Yeah, it was all brand spanking new in April and refurbed. I read around on the net and thought it may be a collapsed hose so have got one in the post!! If it is that rejoice. If it's not that it's the solid pipe from the abs pump or the pump it's self
