The good thing about those rx8 is that depreciation is their middle name, you could probably have one for the price of a trophy and a prereg one for the price of a 197.
My mate is looking at getting a 182 and I looked under the bonnet and noticed the screws protruding from the suspension towers (where you would attach a strut brace) were completely rusted and when I sat in the driver's seat and did the gears 3rd gear was more like 5th gear in that it wasnt...
I thought about getting a 172 cup and stripping it but changed my mind when I realised the cup would cost £6000 for a decent one and the mods would take it up to trophy money.
What did you think of 002? This was the press car used at brands hatch etc wasnt it?
Damn though they let you test drive it. I could have purchased the car there and then with my credit card and they wouldnt let me take it out.
Looking at getting a trophy (reg "YK55 ORF") on ebay, has anyone viewed it? I know it has been listed a few times, so someone must have viewed it from the forums.

Its funny how rear ending someone is not perceived as dangerous driving. My mate is...
But these cars are not about speed, their about keeping the weight down and handling excellently. Doesnt the vx weigh about the same as a 172 cup. I think a properly fettled elise s1 with nitrons is going to be a much better car than any vx and when that k-series goes bang theres always a...
I don't think its as good value as the 172 or 182. What has detracted me from a purchase is the weight and that with every incarnation there has been like a increase in performance until now but not with the 197.
I was thinking similar. There were 2 at bedford when I was there, both of them had their numberplates obscured with tape. I think a lot of people are tracking them and don't disclose the same when selling, don't know how much difference it makes.
My concern is a heavily tracked car is going...
