Thats a pointless mod on its own as torque drops off after 6500rpm would be flat as a fart up at 7800. Plus the valve gear wont like that rpm for exteneded use
I have to agree with admits after i bought a K-tecs sports cat (off admits actually) i had a couple of problems fitting it (NOT ADMITS FAULT I STRESS) and K-tec were relly helpfull in giving me advise in getting i sorted out.
K-tec have awesome aftersales.

when tightening up the sprung manifold bolts i used a socket on a flexible joint then a large extension bar with a mate dangling over the engine with a spanner on the bolts

Yes it is possible to DIY but you might run into problems removing it as its not as straight forward as it seems due to restrictions in the engine bay. Im going to have a crack at mine when i can be bothered
