My machine is back up to speed now. It must have been f**king about with updates when I said it was slower.
Messages is cool. I always found it annoying when my phone went off and I had to get up (yeah, I'm that lazy). Syncing up perfectly with my iPhone and iPad. Too bad two of my mates have...
Took me about 1 1/4 hours to download then 25 to install. Mine seems to be running a little slower though. 30 seconds to boot up, up from 25 secs and 9 seconds to shutdown, up from 3 seconds. Not had a proper play yet. I'm tired and going to bed.
That's on a 2010 13" MBP with an SSD.
Re: iPhone 5 this October??
Just had a look at prices for recycling my 4. £190 seems to be the best so far. Think I might get rid now and roll with my good old Nokia for a few months.
I had one on mine (got it free with a case). Had it back off within a week. Completely unnecessary (unless you're using it in some horrendous environment) IMO.
Can't really extend that much further lol. Fire all documents/music/vids/pics on an external hard drive (I also uploaded really important stuff to Dropbox and Google Drive), install SSD, install Mac OS, copy all of the aforementioned items back to your Mac. I then just installed applications...
It was recommended in another recent SSD thread that it would be better to do a fresh install, then just copy over all your documents/music/video etc files. That's what I did. Wasn't any more hassle really.
